Flying there Thursday for a job interview Friday morning and will be flying back Friday afternoon. Only place I've heard of there is St. Elmo Steakhouse. I've been to so many steakhouses I don't know if another one is really going to impress me at this point.

Should I try to find something more regional like the pork tenderloin sandwich or is there something else in that region I might be overlooking?

if ever there was a thread where that one guy's constant suggestion of walk-on's would be appropriate, this is it

Never been to Indy the city. Been to the state once. As best I can tell, there is no “food scene” to speak of.

This is the only notable food item from there of which I’m aware and which seems remotely intriguing. I have to think if I’m there one night, it’s where I would seek to go. And I’m not really a big steakhouse guy either. It just seems like a situation where it wouldn’t make sense to try and overthink it.

If I ever get up there, I’ll hit one of the places where the late IndyCar journalist Robin Miller often ate. Workingman’s Friend, Pit Stop BBQ, Mug n Bun, or Charlie Brown’s. That last one even has a room named for Robin.

Robin didn’t go for fancy stuff. I do somewhat question his taste, though, because he drank only Pepsi.
