There was a place down in Plaquemine on Rail Road Avenue back in 88-92 had the best donuts I ever tasted.

I'm not saying they were the best but at 5-6 yrs old, they tasted like Magic.

Meche's on Guilbeau in Lafayette. Hot glazed right out of the fryer. Doesn't get any better IMO.

Krispy Kreme in Biloxi way back when before they made it big. I think it was one of like 5 locations. The best part was going with my Grandfather.

Just picked up a box of Krispy Kreme this morning.

Favorite has to be Round Rock Donuts in Texas. Had them for the 1st time last year, and it was awesome.

The second to best donut out there.

The best donut is from shipley donuts on Hwy 71 in bunkie, la.

I live in lafayette. One morning I was coming from north la and stopped in bunkie to buy 5 dozen donuts for work. 20 or so people had them, all from lafayette and surrounding areas, and all but 1 admitted that those donuts were better than Meche's.

Meche's in Laffy and Spalding's in Lexington, Ky. are my two favorites. I do want to try the one in Round Rock though.

Dimm's Bakery on Railroad Avenue in Donaldsonville, LA.

Closed down after he died some years back. Was never the same, some people took it over but changed it.

And Shipley's is crap. Give me Mary Lee's over that.
