Tried to have dinner here one Saturday Night. The front of house didn't have a clue what to do with all of the volume they had booked.
They put us in the bar that overlooked the dining room while we waited for a table. About 30 minutes after our reservations, I noticed Chef Maggio in the dining room moving tables. No way on a busy night do you have your chef doing the jobs of the wait/bus staff.
We left and had a nice meal at Flemings instead.

Krispy Kreme on Siegen opened with a bang and was closed within a year.
False. It was open from January 2003 to November 2006.

Not sure what happened to the KK on Siegen. Every time I went it was packed.

Warren Capone owned Linebackers off Essen near railroad tracks. Maybe it was around 1999 or so. Anyone know when Linebackers was open?

Maravich's Fried Chicken. (Press, not Pete)

the pizza was good, but it almost uncomfortable eating in there because he was such a prick and his employees seemed to be walking on egg shells
The Deangelo brother's place NY Pizza or whatever was also legit, he just wasn't a fan of paying taxes.

I was working at Damon's when it closed. I actually closed the restaurant down on the final night and had no clue it was the last day it would be open. I got a call from one of the waitresses the next morning telling me we were now unemployed.

what was the name of the bar that replaced dreamland?

I was a champion of Dingo's when it first opened because my good friend knew the owner well, and he was one of the nicest and most personable guys I had met.
Out the gate, his food was awesome and the menu was interesting. He prided himself on high-quality, local ingredients and specials centered around fresh foods in season.
And then he hit the wall where he couldn't seem to find competent staff in the kitchen and the food quality suffered bad. The menu was re-written and prices went up and portions went down. To be fair, they were huge portions to begin with.
The last day for me was I had to send a steak back three times because it was horribly overcooked. Not like a medium rare to a medium; but a medium rare cooked to well-done.
It closed shortly after that and I do wish it could have made it.

It was on the corner of Choctaw and Monticello. It's currently Tim's Poboys.

Wasn't it something like Dru's? Think one of the guys from Brew-Bacher's was involved. I know they were upset when they didn't win a Best of 225 Award.....so upset they literally threw the 225 magazine rack out of their restaurant.

Momma Goldbergs Deli on Highland. What happened to that place? Never even got to try it - did it ever open?

Will never forget that place. The smoking section was separated from the non-smoking section by a half wall and if you wanted to sit in non-smoking, there could be a smoker literally 5 feet from your face.

yeah I think that was it. It actually wasn't a bad spot
