They do have really good crabcakes.

As of now, I have to disagree. $13 for two cakes? F that. That seemed like sticking it with no KY. Otherwise I love the place, but jeez.

The best part about this comment is that there are actually people out there that believe this. I have an old roommate who would rather go to Joe's Crab Shack or Red Lobster over just about any restaurant in Baton Rouge. This is also a guy who put ketchup on Veal Piccatta.

I have to give the best chain crown to J. Alexander's for Baton Rouge.

Obvious winner would be Ruth's Chris, but I put it in the next bracket up since it is a nicer restaurant.

I've eaten at Bonefish exactly one time while attending a seminar in B.R. Food was okay. The wait staff tried just a little too hard to be professional/sophisticated/morethantheyare/corporate or something like that. I'm sure it was policy.

Ruth's Chris is consistently good. Not serious cuisine but it's fine for getting drunk, stuffing your face and spending a lot of money. I hit the one on Poydras once in awhile. My best experience was eating at the one in Beverly Hills for free because we were with one of that location's owner's daughter. We took full advantage of the opportunity.

Frankly, as far as just grabbing a meal on any given day, I like Houston's. Good bar and dependable food. Not great but always good.

That was pretty much all I saw the last time I went to Bonefish. I found it really strange...and it made me not really want to go there anymore.
