I did but he only had enough for half a plate. It was 200 bucks.

What do you consider great? Or the best?

That wouldn't surprise me since the rookie burnt and dried up the hog according to the ccbbq facebook page. He's already deleted the two hog posts from IG. Out of site out of mind. He wants his sheep to believe that it never happened. Keep on advertising that whole hog catering. I'm done with this guy. I'll take my money and bbq appetite to another bbq restaurant the next time I'm in New Orleans.

How can you see that with the wool in your eyes?

How were the naked wings? I can't do BBQ sauce, too much sugar. What's in the white sauce?

Naked wings were really good. Smoked and then flash fried. The white BBQ sauce was tangy with a little kick. The way I'd describe it would be a vinegar-ranch sauce. Not thick like ranch dressing though, it had the consistency of their vinegar bbq sauce which was also very good.

I've not had their white sauce, but it's usually mayo and vinegar and then seasoned to taste (any all or none of things like s&p, cayenne, lemon juice, horseradish, sugar, etc). The vinegar + peppers are probably behind the tart and kick.
ETA: usually very good with chicken

$50 for lunch for two people at a place that isn't any kind of fancy? Yeah, eff all the way off with that. It's nonsense you can't get burnt ends on a platter anymore. That's the only reason I went the first time.

Yea, he/she signed up just to post about central city BBQ. Majority of their posts are about central also.

Fwiw, we were able to eat 2 meals out of it. We ate the rest for dinner. My wife doesn't eat a ton but it could easily feed 2-3 men.
And in New Orleans, the going rate on lunch for 2 at a descent casual place is $40-$70 (depending on where you go). For me it's in that range.

Good morning, it flatters me that I'm in your thoughts this morning.
I didn't just sign up to play about ccbbq. It just happens to be the first topic that I had interest in, because of my experience there and followed along with. Keep following along with my posts, and you'll notice that they will vary as time goes on.
Enjoy your stalker sprinkled donuts this morning.

$50 is an absurd amount of money for BBQ.
You could get two 2 meat plates with 2 sides each from Blue Oak BBQ and spend about $32.
You're not factoring in drinks, tax or tip. $50 is spot on for two people eating full meals at Blue Oak. I did it last Sunday.

A lot of irony in your statement.

Paid more than double that for one charcuterie plate, one side, biscuits, one entree and two cocktails at Primitivo yesterday. While good, I think I would have enjoyed the Sampler better.
The sampler plate at smoking Buddha was great though, I want to say it was only $20 then
.
we were talking last night about how good his first Milkfish location Pop-Up was.

Milkfish opened in spring of 2014 IIRC. NOLAsmokehouse did a pop up at Ave Pub in 2012. Other pop ups at The Bricks and PJ coffee house also took place before the spring of 2014.
I too love Blue Oak. I even have an OG fanboy koozie.
