Ended up settling for the white bean salad, which was good. And only $3
Were you there today?

I went to High Hat today and go the burger with pimento cheese and it was really good...they used some high quality bread
I'll currently rank it #2 in NOLA behind Gordon Biersch

not sure what you're getting at but it's the best burger you can get in this area that I've tried so far

Pretty much the definition of a run of the mill burger, but, you know, different strokes for different folks.

it's been strong the two times I've gone. My second time having it, I was afraid it was gonna disappoint me because my first experience was so incredible but it was just as strong as the first time. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and it didn't need any condiments added at all

I HIGHLY recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Went to Hi Hat last night. Split the shrimp remoulade salad and a large catfish platter. The salad was decent, nothing special. The catfish, fries, and hush puppies (which I am not usually a fan of) were all solid.

I give the edge to cowbell on the mac n cheese and to hi hat on the burger even though I wasn't as impressed as glass...but it was over cooked, they didn't ask me a temp so next time I will demand mr-r...glass guarantees I will be mire happy and I'm sure he's right...also want to try cowbell again, not for the burger but for the ribeye!! Saw it in New Orleans Magazine and it looked great!!!

Ate at Hi Hat yesterday and it was really good. Disagree that it is overpriced. And I liked it better than anything I've ever eaten at Gordon Biersch. Pimento cheese was better than I was expecting - less thick and creamy and more spicy and salty. Patty was cooked to medium perfection. And the bun is one of the best I've had.
The tamales were solid. The ones I ate in the Delta were better as they had a little more kick to them But these were very good and the best I've had in Louisiana. The au jus was kind of pointless.
Catfish was very good but a little under salted. The fries were just like I love fries with a very natural earthy taste.
I really liked it and it's a very good casual place with an almost old school diner feel.

Man I loved the au jus.

It wasn't bad kfizzle. But I didn't feel like it added much to the tamales as they were pretty "wet." If the tamales were drier, I would have appreciated the au jus much more. If I dipped my tamale or didn't, I thought they tasted roughly the same. It may be a testament to how good the tamale was as opposed to commentary on the au jus.

I think they might have started changing the tamales, because the first time I went (first week it was open), they were dry and the just was a perfect compliment. I liked them like that, and assumed they made them purposefully less greasy. The second time I went, they were definitely a little more greasy on their own though.
