Ever since I was a little kid, I was known to devour olive loaf. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone who makes it. I’m always forced to buy national brand options.

Recently, my buddy told me about the Italian rare roast beef at dorignacs. I shop there frequently because of their reasonable liquor prices.

I must say, this shite is legit and is slowly replacing the arse meat with olives.

It’s $15 a lb. I get 1/2 lb and it will generally yield me three sandwiches throughout the week.

I love that it has little slivers of garlic in it. White bread, Mayo, Swiss cheese and rare roast beef is a sandwich many would fight over. Unfortunately, most would get their asses kicked by my fat arse.

Let me know if there are any local stores that sell good in-house cold cuts.

Stay fat, my friends.

I miss Publix slicing up Boar's Head roast beef in front of me.

We rolled into Florida this afternoon. Dropped better than a C note on Boar's Head. Shaved. Not sliced.

Growing up we had a local grocery store that would have some Cajun turkey we get paper thin basically shaved. I still think about it some of the best sandwiches.

Costco used to sell the best sliced roast beef under the Kirkland brand at $8.99/lb, but they stopped carrying it sometime within the last year. They still have ham and sometimes turkey in the same style packaging, but the roast beef was the best. They also now have a three-headed monster tri-pack with chicken, ham, and roast beef, but it's totally inferior, and the chicken is just awful.

Here's a photo of the good stuff:

I’m not sure about store made, but for me it’s a Bologna loaf, or whatever you call it from our local AG store Jack Browns. Not to thin or thick sliced. I don’t know the measurements, you just know it when you see it.

As much as I love a good rare roast beef, for me the #1 is a high quality cappocola.

Kretschmar ham, beef, or turkey. Get it shaved.

My local Costco (SC) still sells it. Not sure why they all wouldn't. Weird.

Cheap ham, Kraft single, bread slathered in mayo, cold a slightly soggy from the ice chest. It’s one of life’s little pleasures

Sam’s Black Forest Ham is the best bang for your buck. Good quality, and it’s $7 for 22oz ($5/lb). Their smoked turkey was really delicious, but they quit carrying it.

The thick sliced smoked ham is also really good. I don’t make sandwiches with it, I just eat it by itself.

Are you talking freshly sliced or prepackaged? I'm pretty sure the prepackaged stuff still exists.
