Wonder why they have the chimney as an accessory?

They sell charcoal grills too. Probably just general accessories and not just for the griddle.

Finish it off with some lemon juice. Thing will looks brand new after each use.

It's supposed to be black because it gets seasoned. I think your method would defeat the purpose.

What's the info on the stainless model? Worth the extra expense?

My son with fishing this weekend and caught a 52" cobia.

Cleaned griddle.

Cleaned and oiled.

Less rust? The stainless one looks very nice. If it wasn't a gift I probably would have sprung for it.

If you read the instructions on the site or watch the video produced by Blackstone it tells you that the griddle will turn black after seasoning and should stay that way.

It's not an indoor situation. To protect it from rusting you have to season and oil it. If it was an indoor product I'd agree with you.

What a well seasoned Griddle should look like

Your well seasoned griddle top should be black and have a natural stick resistant cooking surface. The more you cook with your griddle top, the more black, stick resistant and shiny it will become.

Will you try a reverse sear on a big ribeye with that thing?

Can do. I'll do it later this week.

First. Chicken breasts.

Someone asked for temps. This short of high temp on the grill. Just in the white under the red on the dial for high temp.

Tougher clean tonight. I marinated the chicken and should have patted it dry. I'm going to have to burn some residue to ash to get all the way down to the surface where the chicken breasts cooked.
