where does the grease go?

Mine has a little tray that slides under a little hole in the angle iron drip edge. However if you are cooking a bunch of stuff (burgers) the trap fill overflow or if you catch it in time and try to dump it you will get it all over yourself.

My fix was to drill out the hole larger so that little pieces of meat and stuff can go down in it without clogging it and I bought one of these little galvanized buckets (actually 2 so I could swap them out). I just hang the little handle on the edge of the drip hole. My bucket is about 3-4" across the top.

$82 bucks at Home Depot, free shipping. That is not mine BTW, just a pic I pulled mine just shipped today. As for Accessories I got my Spatulas and Scraper from Websturant Store along with some squirt bottles. The had heat resistant handles up to 400F. Also Stainless and NSF rated.

Is there a mod for a bigger grease catcher? Not so much for the grease but for the water when cleaning it.

I like the surround. When I get the hard top cover for the griddle I won't have to lower the surround anymore to put the soft cover on it.

Good idea on the bucket for grease. I'll also add that if you cook bacon on it the bucket becomes an essential item.

I bought the tailgater version and received it yesterday. The delivery driver said he has the 36 and had problems with rust. I know cast iron has to be cared for, seasoned and oiled after use. My intent was to leave it setup and covered on the back patio.

Has anyone left their’s outside but covered and not had issues?

No issues with mine outdoors, but the Blackstone cover is not water tight. I used a empty milk jug filled with some sand placed on cooktop, then got a waterproof tarp tented over that with the Blackstone cover as the top layer. So far no water has leaked through. It is important to tent it with something so water will run off and not puddle.

36'' vs 28''. If i'm feeding between 2-6 people, i assume the 28 is fine, but if it's more than 6, option of having the 36 would make it a great deal right?

May be moving soon and want to get something for the outside, maybe this over a traditional "grill"

How do you clean it? Do you need to treat it like a cast iron for seasoning/preventing rust etc?

This is correct. It has to absorb oil to keep it from rusting. So you season/burn it the same. Like any other cast iron moisture will cause it to rust. The best defense against rust is using it regularly and keeping it dry.

Cleaning process is similar to cleaning a hibachi top.

1) Scrape
2) Scrub with abrasive stone
3) Scrub with less abrasive pad
4) Pour on hot water and wipe down with towels
5) After it has cooled oil it to prevent rust and for the next use

Seems elaborate but it only takes 5-10 minutes.

Alright I'm bumping this one more time ...

I've cooked on this puppy about 3 times now. I like it. I want to love it, but I don't feel like it gets hot enough. For instance, I cook a ton of food on sundays for the week. One thing I do is scramble a bunch of eggs and pour them on. You would think that they would immediately start cooking, but they take forever. Seems like they are liquid for 30+ minutes. Do I have a potential issue with the burners or does this thing just not get hot enough? Burners are open all the way for the record.

You may need to check that the actual burner is lit under the griddle. The knob may be on, but I have noticed that sometimes the flame doesn't carry over to the next burner. You can blow the flame in that direction and usually it will catch. If the fire is wide open there's no way it should take 30 minutes to scramble an egg. I can do it in about 2 minutes or less on a hot griddle.

That's not right. Mine will get so hot the eggs are instantly cooking, eggs are the last thing i cook since it only takes a few minutes. Mine is the original, maybe yours is different but check to see if the flattop is down in the holes correctly?

Oh I'm serious. Its weird. It eventually cooks everything, it just doesn't seem as hot as it should be. All burners are lit.
