Take this for what it's worth, my brother who uses his smoker almost every weekend had a KJ Classic for years. !8 months ago he bought the RT Bullseye. He kept the Joe as well thinking he would still use it for certain things. Fast forward to now and I just sold his KJ to a co-worker because he hasn't used it in over a year and prefers the RT and a Weber kettle. I also bought the RT Bullseye after seeing his the first time, it was ordered before I even got home

Pellet grills don't get nearly as much smoke flavor as a kamado will. And go with the Kamado Joe. Beats out the BGE

Get a BGE and a temp regulator like the BGE genius. Pretty much the best of both worlds

I had that kind of setup for my 2 Primos. Since getting the Master built gravity smoker I haven't touched the primos and its been over a year. The control is already there like a pellet grill but it uses charcoal, lump, and wood so you get the flavor. Its not a high end thick metal rig but with a cover and cleaning it can last a while.

I have An Egg (different brand) andni enjoy the process and stuff like that

If your just looking for smoked meat get the pellet grill.

If you’re looking for a hobby/reason to get away from family get the egg

Have both.

I assumed I would keep using the BGE for hot and fast sear but I rarely do even though I think BGE is a better pure grill.

RecTeq pellet smoker is a better grill than I expected. I can get a fantastic sear on the flat side of the grill grate.

I have both. Gun to my head I’m choosing the pellet grill. If I get my Egg too hot it’s hell to get the temp to come down. That pellet grill is set it and forget it. Easy to clean. It’s just too damn easy.
