Question for the Hogs guys...its a phenomenal event, and in 10 years it has gone from a humble gathering of friends to a fest on the tier right below the big three...MG/JF/FQF. With that said, two of the last three years have been severely affected by weather...so are you considering a venue change? At the very least, you guys should demand city park to install a state of the art drainage system. Keep doing great work, fellas. Love the pork and good times.

My .02, thanks.

those were epic rainfall days. The only place in NOLA draining that much water over night is Zephyr field.

on top of that, i dont think there is a venue in the city that can accommodate all those teams & what they need to bring out there and set up.

The Plaza. It's on concrete and readily accessible from I-10.

I kid.

What about where FQF sets up? Linear park in the bywater? Laffite Greenway?

Or maybe the Champagne Palace?

Once again its a great event for a great cause. Just hate seeing them held hostage a bit by the mud/venue.

Thanks to my baws from TN who pumped the shite out of that water. Those dude's didn't stop. I was impressed with their knowledge of the ground with only being there for a few hours.

it rained like 8-10inches on Friday. I just dont know what people expect. Maybe the drainage does suck, but you dont even know when it rains that much. It's going to be a mess either way. Same thing with Voodoo fest, which may have been even worse

I hear ya, Les. Hoping maybe there is a drainage solution out there for future events. Just want to see these guys get as much money as they can for their cause.

Yea it does suck big time. Saw they raised $875,000. That is great considering.

That is what the teams individually raised. The event is a different number.

ive thought about how it would be to start a team, but there are so many teams now, with the top teams stealing a lot of the limelight. It doesn't seem like people give the lesser known teams much of a shot, whether their food is good or not.

I may be mistaken, but I think there is a waiting list for new teams.

Most new teams will not get a lot of visitors unless they spend some serious $$$ on the booth. However if you put out good food and get some hardware or at least top 10 finishes, you can get recognition from that. Even with a shitty build, people will buy from you if you are able to effectively advertise your wins. First year you will have to go full barker and serve something interesting and good to get customers.
