So many times I get on here and see a topic or a post someone has made in the WFDT and say “Yep! That’s what I’m cooking tonight/ this weekend.”
It makes me cook things I’ve never cooked before, or cook things I haven’t in a while.
Just the one on my mind is, years ago, I think in a challenge thread. Someone (and I can’t remember who. I believe it was one of our lady posters) posted a chopped shrimp sandwich.
I followed her recipe and it was absolutely amazing.
This is basically an appreciation to the F&DB. I check almost daily and it never dissapoints. Keep it cooking friends.

Well I opened this thread to say, "all the time", and ended up with a compliment. Glad you made it and loved it. I'm a sucker for a non-fried shrimp with rich cheeses and pepper jelly.

I've been reading the F&D board since I was 19. I've learned to make jambalaya, gumbo, biscuits and gravy, real deal crawfish bisque, etc. all from this board.

It was a huge part of getting me into cooking the way I am today and now coming up with my own ideas.

I learned about the Mississippi Pot Roast from here a few months ago and have made it maybe three times now.

Often. There was a pot roast thread a couple of weeks ago and it inspired me to make a pot roast that weekend. It was good.

I was thinking it was you, but wasn’t sure! My wife has been asking me to make it again, so I can promise that your dish hasn’t been forgotten!

I learned about the Mississippi pot roast on the F&DB. I bastardized it using beef tips. I make them regularly on cfb Saturdays and heat up some Leidenheimer rolls for mini poboys with pepper jack cheese. Great for snacking during a game.

Not only what I'm cooking, but how I'm cooking.. and where I'm going out to dinner. F&D is my #1 source for restaurants in New Orleans, Lafayette and Baton Rouge.
I've even gone to restaurants in New York from rec's here on the F&D Board.

Quite often.
When I’m trying to figure out what I’m cooking, I’ll come here first.
Even when I’m not looking for ideas, I frequently find them here.
I post more on this board than any other.
