When I was stationed in California, I always thought it an overrated burger. Decent but not worth waiting in a long line for.

Food is OK. Service is top-shelf.

Good fast-food option if in proximity.

A burger, fries and soda is about what $8.50? For the price it's tough to beat.

Fries are really bad. Burger not bad.. nothing special. A fresh hot whataburger from
Gulf Breeze,FL blows it away. Whataburger fries are the greatest

come clean how fat are you?

In-N-Out burger patty is approximately 2 ounces before cooking.

You'd hurl over less than 8oz of beef? That's the equivalent of a double quarter pounder at McDonald's.

The burger was good but the fries were so overrated.

Honestly never seen someone rate their fries as anything above average.

Very typical In and Out review, I feel the same. Decent burger, terrible fries, great service.

I don't get the hype for their burgers. I find them very lacking. If I want a fast food burger chain to open near me, I take a Culver's all day. We finally got one, but it's on the other side of town.

Any Whataburger double or triple offering. Plus the jalapeno sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit is the best fast food biscuit on the market.

We had a Whataburger open near us last year. Went once. Burger seemed like it sat under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. Dairy Queen level food. Dry and pretty much tasteless.

Maybe I was there on a bad day or something....

I feel like the Whataburger hype is mostly nostalgia at this point. Back before they became a chain you found everywhere they were pretty awesome, I'd always make an effort to stop there on my drives through Texas back in the day. Kinda like stopping at Popeyes driving through Louisiana. But now Whataburger is pretty mediocre. Good fries and shakes, and solid breakfast, but that's about it.

I'll agree with most on In and Out, solid burgers and shakes for a decent price, and crappy fries (though they are tolerable if you get them lightly done). But they aren't worth going out of your way for. I have one 5 minutes away and will eat there occasionally, but I generally go to Culver's, Freddy's, or Portillos if I want a burger.

Great service to deal with the silly lines
Goodish Burger
Fries are terrible (though my lady claims ordering them extra crispy makes it better)

Habit is the way to for faster food burgers in Socal

My wife and her daughter were in San Francisco for 5 days recently and they grabbed a burger and fries at one of the In-n-Out locations and they both said they found it pretty good.

I've never eaten there and it's probably been at least 10 years since I've had a fast food burger from any outlet. When I did eat them several times a year, I preferred Burger King over all the others.

I have always read the fries suck. Do they have other options like onion rings or cheese curds?
