Spinach and Artichoke dip with the fried bowtie pasta from Copelands
Chimes Covington has a damn solid version of that.

Used to get the cheese fries at outback steakhouse in high school and smother them in ranch dressing, it’s amazing I did not have a heart attack.
Used to go to Chili’s also and get their awesome blossom

Any birthday when I was a kid we'd get fancy and go to Outback - every time it was Bloomin Onion for the adults, cheese fries for everyone. So amazing.
Think one birthday when I turned 15 or 16, I wanted an entire cheese fries for myself. That ranch sauce is the best.
Back then, that was classy occasion dining. Palate has elevated a bit since then but I'll still tear up some Outback cheese fries and dark bread.

Yet.
The shite we did as kids comes back to haunt us much later.
As to the OP topic, the Bloomin' Onion is not even the best version of itself at a chain steak house. The Cactus Bloom at Texas Roadhouse is better IMO.

Friday’s potato skins.
Not the objective best, but OG iconic.

... what put Outback on the map, what made them so popular to begin with
Was the heavy duty silverware and chunky knife
Back in the late 80s early 90s , steakhouses like Steak and Ale , used flimsy thin forks and spoons with a skinny steak knife
Outback changed that
Overnight ... yep ... overnight

Alonso's on Central Ave back in the 1970s had it way before Russell's.
