I stopped buying a couple years back when they had QC issues and their expensive milk soured in a day or two.

If only they had the same brand loyalty that Borden is getting right now! Kleinpeter never killed anybody at least

FWIW I don't currently use Borden or Kleinpeter, will take some time before I trust either brand

I've heard some rumors of the chaos and poor finances left in place by their now "retired" CEO. My same source also alluded to having possibly sold out very quietly to a dairy conglomerate. Again, just rumors but from someone who has enough connections to get info like that. I'm not a fan of $6.50 milk, but I hope those rumors are not true. Curious if anyone else has heard that floating around.

I'm just glad I could turn to Kleinpeter ice cream during the Blue Bell stoppage.

No idea if it's true, but it wouldn't surprise me. The milk tastes just like every other pasteurized mass produced milk. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't see how they expect people to pay more for basically the equivalent of generic brand milk.

I like it but my kids won't drink it, they drink way more milk than me so we stick to fresh market 2%

From what I heard the amount sunk into the ice cream production was way more than initially stated. Couple that with the sour milk fiasco and additional poor decision making and it left a huge financial hole.

I know this to be correct.

On top of the very public issues with milk quality they had a string of bad business decisions related to the ice cream line and preventive maintenance that left them in a real bind.

I don't know who bailed them out, but they quietly received a large infusion of cash that solved a lot of their financial issues.

They ship in milk as well. They don't have the volume of production from their one farm to keep the creamery running.

Do you shake your milk before drinking? If so you just homogenized the fat globules in the milk.

Feliciana's has captured a niche market with the cream line advertising.
