Don’t believe this was discussed on here but just saw the article in the Advocate

Not sure how to feel about this
Never had a bad meal there
Hope the new owners don’t change too much

It sounds very promising, but man I really hope they don't mess this up! I think all would welcome positive changes, but you never know what someone will do. Definitely hope they do not ditch the scratch food roots.

surprised to hear this. Nino's an easy top 3 restaurant in BR in my opinion.

I wonder why the owner (Elton) sold?

So do I. The article didn't mention anything. I'm hoping someone here has some information.

They’ve been trying to sell since 2017

This is one of the best restaurants in BR! I hope they don’t change too much. I know new owners will come in with new ideas, but this is our spot to go when we go to BR for dinner. Can’t beat their pasta!

I heard he was having some health issues. I have to believe both he and Randee were suffering some burnout.

I didn't read the link because of the paywall but we ate there 2 weeks ago. Our waiter told us after I asked about Randee not being there, but did not give a lot of info. He did say the guy running the kitchen now had been taking over a lot of Chef E's responsibilities over the last couple of years.

The food was on point as always so I am holding out hope they at least maintain what R&E have managed to build over the years.

I wish the best to Chef Elton & Randee and hope they are happy in their future endeavors.

I love Nino's, we go often.

Last week the service was terrible. We had reservations, were seated by the hostess. No one stopped by our table for 15 minutes until the hostess finally came by to apologize that no one had stopped by yet. She took our appetizer order then the waiter came by and we let him know that she had put our appetizer order in. We ordered drinks, when those came back, the waiter asked if we wanted to start with an appetizer...I reminded him that the hostess had put it in for us. The rest of the night was just a discombobulated mess with getting drinks wrong, not refilling waters, forgetting the bread, etc.

We've never had problems like this before and have been many times. I'll continue to go hoping that this was just a bad night.

That's a shame. Hopefully, an off night. Seems lots of places are still having issues with getting quality employees or any at all.

Haven't tried the new ownership yet. But disturbing rumor is that new owners want to rush 4 seatings through every night. That tiny 15 table place will lose its following fast. Recent question about best places to eat in BTR had no mention of Ninos.

Have reservations for this evening. They got on OpenTable so now you can reserve without a phone call.

We shall see.

I saw a recent review on Facebook (not on the restaurant's page) and it was very positive. Hope you have great meals!
