Had the gator and calamari poboys from Johnny's while I was in New Orleans. The calamari poboy was fantastic.

Do they sauce it with anything, or just the standard dressed?

Gator is sauced with a remoulade. Calamari is standard dressed, but I asked for the remoulade as well, turned out great.

Half Shell on BlueBonnet does a calamari po-boy. Not bad.

If U are around NO east try We Never Close po-boys. overstuffed and pretty tasty.
Abso-effin-lutley! I don't know anybody else knew about that place. My parents used to live out that way (before Katrina) and I swear that place made po-boys that rivaled any in the city of New Orleans.

Are they still open? That area got hit hard by Katrina.

Just across the St. Benard Parish line in Arabi. Arabi Food Store (not Arabi Diner). One of the best roast beef po-boys I've ever eaten.

There's another little Italian bar/restrant in the same area, right by Jackson Barracks with good po-boys, but I can't remember the name.

Finally someone who knows what good is. Their meatball is probably the best po-boy IMO and IMHO.

To the person that started the thread, try Liuzza's by the Track. I recommend the BBQ shrimp sandwich, which isn't really a po-boy but it's utterly delicious. Next best thing is the Breath Taking Beef.
