according to my fitness pal- 1 cup of Orzo contains ~ 40 carbs. 47 carbs in 1 cup of white rice (used mahatma as the entry)

Heading to Gulf Shores for hang out fest. Contemplating trying to Keto, but beer seems to be inevitable. Might just have to chalk this week up as an L after yesterday.

1 lb a week takes a long time. Just sayin.

Time is on your side.
You need to walk 9 holes a few times a week.
It'd be fun and an easy way to burn it off.

Began Keto a week and a half ago. Lost 8lbs so far of water weight I'm sure. I'm never hungry and finding it easy to stick to.
I'm a little worried about all the red meat and saturated fats though. I had blood work done last August and my cholesterol, triglycerides and either HDL or LDL was high( the bad one was high and the good one was low). My BP was a little higher than normal as well. My grandfather died of a heart attack and my father has had a heart attack, so heart disease runs in the family.
So I'm starting a diet high in fat and salt has me a little worried. I'll be having more blood work done in August for my company's Heath insurance annual physical and I'm hoping the already high numbers won't skyrocket.
Btw, even with the red meat, cheese, bacon and eggs, I'm not coming close to hitting my fat macros of 130g.
Am I concerned over nothing?

I'm going to stick to it. I actually like it. I'm eating 1200 calories a day and not hungry.
As far as the fat though. Would it be harmful to switch to turkey bacon, ground turkey, chicken etc instead of all the high fat meats? I know I definitely wouldn't hit fat macros then, but wasn't sure if the added fat was necessary. I'm thinking more like a Mediterranean Keto diet? I know I'm hung up on the fat part, I just don't want to have a heart attack
Thanks for all the help in this thread though, it's a great resource. I mainly lurk here & and the Keto Reddit

You're gonna need that fat.
If you don't get enough, it's gonna be miserable.
You'll be tired a lot.
