Rusty Pelican
Nuvolari's
Morton's
Chimes
Half-Shell Oyster
I would gladly go to any of these and I've been away a while. Sure there's more.

Fazzio’s is a great one and close to interstate. Mandina’s is good too.

Probably a little far off if you are trying to be quick, but Yee Chinese for authentic, menu only Chinese food.
Hot and sour soup is best I’ve had

Phil’s Marina is solid AF. I’ll throw in Bonnie C’s and Southside. But yeah, there’s going to be a little more variety in Mandeville/Covington.
Tacos and Beer is pretty good too in Old Towne but it’s not super big inside. Nice cigar lounge literally across the street as well if you’re looking to get out of the house for an hour or two

Habano's is a good hidden gem.
I’ve only gone in there because they have a great selection of cigars and booze but every time I do go in there’s a lot of people eating at the little cafe in the back. Is it actually good food?

Slidell is a meth town
I lived in Slidell for 17 years (moved in 2020) and still couldn’t tell you where the “bad” parts are. Slidell has lots of middle/upper middle class neighborhoods and a few full of $1mil+ homes. In the course of normal daily Slidellian activities, never did I encounter a single bit of crime. Slidell is fine.

It definitely isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It does have a heroin presence after the opioids started hitting the area and using that was the next best thing. I've lost one cousin to it and waiting on two more. Most of the crime comes from the East and gives is a bad rap
