The frozen peeled tails have been in 16 oz packages forever but today I noticed in my local GA Walmart the packages are only 12 oz.

I demand an explanation.

The 16 oz package in my pic was purchased in November, still in my freezer.

So it is a very recent change that we all deserve answers for.

They sell both sizes. The 16oz price here in NOLA is a better deal by weight than the 12oz.

Simple answer. Groceries, especially WalMart, want a lower price on the shelf. They tell their vendors that they need to lower the price and don't give a shite about the weight on the shelf. Their only concern is that price.

They are selling both sizes where I am, but a pound is $3 less than what's in Gumbo's picture.
