I'm guessing is more of a smart phone texting thing.

And the message: Magoo's is closed. I think something else may be in the works there.

sorry, my many years eating at TGIF's has turned me into a bit of a food snob.

I guess I better use my Groupon soon!

Jasmine's is a go-to. I love the rocket _______. They are in the process of revising their menu. Hopefully they don't change much. The only thing I hate is I like to eat outside and now I get choked by the nasty incense smell coming from the head shop a few doors down.

Portobello's is OK but WAY to expensive although we hit them on kid's night.

I don't understand the hate by some for George's. It's not great but not awful either. But the prices there are getting ridiculous too.

City Cafe isn't bad. I highly recommend the Hangover burger they serve during weekend brunch.

I'll hit DeAngelo's for a salad on occasion. Agree with others that the prices along with a reduced portion size has slowed me a bit.

Outback was pretty slammed on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago.

Ahuua's is tolerable Mexican. I like their salsa verde.

I hate Jones Creek Cafe and Casa La Vida.

Haven't tried the Thai place by Walmart marketplace. I'm not well versed on Thai food so a little wary on what to order.

Ordered a pizza from Italian Pie for the kids a few weeks ago and not one soul was their at 7 on a weeknight.

Occasionally will get a poboy from LA Seafood because of the prices and it's not terrible.

Have tried Magnolia Grill a couple of times and while the food we ordered wasn't awful, something about the vibe of the place was uncomfortable and only two other tables were seated and the customers were 25 years older than me.

Has anyone tried the lunches at Ralph's? I've hit them for breakfast a few times but never lunch.

I love this area of town to live in. It seems like we would have at least one place that was just awesome!

If you have really good food and good prices, you can be successful. This is why dempseys does so good. I have never had a bad meal there and their prices are not high. I do hate driving out there to get it but I do. I went to jones creek cafe once and the prices were high and it was nothing but old people in there on a Friday night

I went to Alabasha tonight and had some good grub. The customer service was not only existent tonight, but decent. Food was good and business was bustling for a Wed night. Good to see.

I actually enjoy their food and have never had one of the infamous "Pokie" moments but for some reason I rarely go there.

Screw it, I'm going tomorrow!

Albasha is usually money...and you can go around the corner and get your butt kicked by some boxer chicks too!

I like ralphs breakfast. And if you go about 9:20, they will sell you tons of food for 2$. I'll do that when we have family over for big breakfasts. They throw all of the extras away if they dint sell them. In the meat dept we buy their tiger burgers and their chicken burgers. I also love ralphs sushi. Thats about it-they are high as can be for regular grocery shopping.

Ralph's is alright and very convenient, but I was hoping that they'd be more like Calandro's or Calvin's..Instead, they're about the same as Hi Nabor.

Calvin's awesome chicken salad has about a 7 day expiration date.

Ralph's not so good chicken salad has about a 4 week expiration date.

tried it once and vowed to never go back

i passed by there yesterday around 12:30, walt and it literally looked like only the employees' cars were in the parking lot ... my mom goes to that pharmacy down the street from it regularly and said it has looked like that at lunch time for a few weeks now .. but, rest assured, they do have a little staying power .. they print fricking money at that buffet ..

i actually like casa lavida .. really really nice owners .. food's not bad, but you can't beat cheap margarita night .. happy hour corona lights hit the spot too .. my office is across from louisiana seafood, so i am right down the street from them ..

sal .. i will hit ralph's for a plate lunch about once a week .. it is OK .. but not spectacular .. i am almost there every morning for a cup of eggs and coffee, though .. love the breakfast ... i am not big on chinese/oriental food (sorry madamsquirrel ) .. but i have friends that actually swear by china kitchen, a few doors down from portobello's in the albertson's shopping center ..

italian pie is another one that i can't understand how they are still there .. they were dying on a vine in their old location .. which i thought was a helluva lot better than where they moved to .. but yes, hardly ever anyone there ..

i love living out here too .. the only reason we really have to leave this part of town is to buy clothes and go to LSU sporting events .. as soon as woman's hospital opens up, they are going to continue through jefferson highway with stumberg and arc it a few miles back to airline highway .. there will be development all along that stretch .. a "perkins rowe" type development is in the works for that stretch .. but we do need a few different places to eat out here .. i agree ..
