Food snobs always say you can get a good filet anywhere, but The Cub really does it best. The potatoes au gratin are not to be missed. Sometimes I even get an order of those sent to the bar. Best porch to drink a beer on, too.
Also great:
Herby K's - Clean hole in the wall. Goblets of cold beer. Go for the Shrimp Buster, stay for the best marinated crab claws in town. Raw oysters are usually big too.
Wine Country Bistro
Columbia Cafe
The Village (if you're a baller)
Hickory Stick BBQ
Tacomania - casual Mexican
Noble Savage - good for downtown dinner. Chef always changes the menu. Often has good live music. Extensive Scotch selection.
Superior Steakhouse - not so much for the food, but the bar has a unique (for Shreveport) atmosphere.

Best BBQ in town. Hands down.
I have heard positive reviews about marilyn's on Fern, but haven't been there yet.
Chianti on line ave is good. I think Bella fresca has been mentioned, but just in case I'll say it again.
I wasn't terribly impressed with Colombia Cafe. Their breakfast is really good, but the dinner menu is not the best and it's pretty pricey.
If you go to superior steakhouse, try the creme brulee. It's incredible. The rest of the menu is not bad.
The Real Pickle is an awesome little sandwich shop on the corner of line & pierremont.
Oyster bar is in the same shopping center and has top notch chips and salsa. Their food is pretty good, too.

Had dinner this evening at The Cub.
The place is a dive. Certainly not anything visually appealing from the outside or the inside.
But the food ... went with the filet and au gratin potatoes.
I've eaten at Ruth's, Fleming's, Shula's and quite a few other steakhouses - this place was certainly priced like those mentioned above - and the food was just as good, and I found the au gratin potatoes to be the best I have ever had.
Steak cooked to medium and they offered a wedge salad (peppercorn ranch) as part of the meal.
All told, $39 bucks for steak, au gratin potatoes and salad. Separate tab, Abita Amber - $6.50.
Quite pricey, even for work, but I'll gladly go back.

eh. Trejo's has the best chips and salsa in town, IMO.

i've been trying to tell you people!! best steak in Shreveport no doubt.
in addition to other people's recommendations.. for breakfast i'd suggest Southfield Grill or Cotton Boll. both better than Strawn's.
also try out Cush's for a muffy or chicken salad sandwich.
Taqueria La Michoacana right across from The Cub on Youree has some awesome authentic tacos.

just skip these kinds of foods all together. the sushi and hibachi in Shreveport is crap across the board.

several better places to get a sandwich. Rollin in the Dough, Cush's and Deli Casino just to name a few.
