Any definition of restaurant chain that does not incorporate its owner visiting the restaurant at least once a week is an atrophied definition.

My favorite app they have.

I also love the corn grits.

I havent been to the BR location yet- I heard the service was bad, but chalked it up to it being newly opened. Has it improved?

At least two of your foodie heroes that you have talked about on this board have raved about Zea's in the past.

Even the people in the biz that you look up to would call your opinion trash before they would say that about Zea's.

Zea's is always a solid meal whether it is a chain or not.

I've been quite a few times and never, not once, had service problems.

I'm a long time customer from the early St Charles days. It's a great place and for the most part have incorporated the food, recipes, strategy, service into all restaurants.

I am a big fan of Vincents but he struggled in BR because he could not control the above or didn't try too.

I'm eating a piece of crispy duck as I type.

I went once, and was not that impressed..My gf had the rotisserie chicken, and I had the Thai ribs which were good, but I think highly overrated by some folks on this board, and my gf said the rotisserie chicken was no better than what you can buy in a grocery store...I guess we ordered the wrong stuff, so I'll have to go back & try some other things on the menu.

You must be getting some really good chicken from the store then. I always end up happy with a big serving of moist chicken topped with good barb-que sauce when I hit up Zeas.

That was one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in South Louisiana. They had a rosemary chicken pasta that was wonderful! My husband loved the beers and their wine selection was good. I really miss eating there.

UPDATE:

Went this past Friday night. Wife had the grilled/blackened trout with sides.

I had the BBQ rotisserie plate with the corn and cheese grits. Appetizer was the pita bread with hummus.....

ALL freakin' fantastic

i went to the BR location over the weekend. had the honey island chicken sandwich for the second time. this is hands down the best chicken sandwich i have ever eaten. side of red beans. i was really disappointed in the beans. the waitress said "they have like won awards" the flavor was fine but they seemed like they werent thick enough. i guess im just particular about my red beans. also they gave me literally one spoon of rice. gf had the quesadilla which was HUGE. i was really impressed. we had the sweet potatoe bread pudding for dessert. first off, it is NOT a bread pudding. it was like a pie consistence. second it tasted like carrot cake. not a fan.
I will stick with the honey island and thai ribs.

I've had the chicken sandwich and it is good but I'll give you one to try and tell me how you like it. The roasted chicken sandwich at Maxwells across the street. This is fantastic.

I've had the red beans and they are good but I can get red beans plenty of places as well. The roasted garlic hummus is amazing.
