Agree with the La > Tabasco as for basic hot sauce, but the Asian chef at Tabasco churning out all the new lines is doing great work.

Their Smoked Chipotle sauce that's been out a good while now, is fabulous, especially with 32 Bean Soup,etc..

Crystal and La. are just not hot, if I was preparing a dinner for Iowa blue hairs I would use La.. You girls need to grow up, do you like hot sauce or do you like cupcake topping?

First off:
sriracha >>>>>>>>>> everything else.

If not sriracha, Frank's Red Hot > Louisiana > Crystal > Tobasco

It's not the heat, it's the Vinegar taste, like it in some things others not.

I usually use lots of Sriracha, and/or Melinda's Habanero.

Who cares? Nobody here is discussing Louisiana-based hot sauces exclusively.

I like Frank's Red Hot. I put that shite on everything

I like both on different things. Overall, Crystal wins.

I'm a Crystal man myself, but at the end of the day I don't discriminate.

Frank's is made to be cut with butter and put on wings, its got a lot in it besides hot sauce ingredients.
Sriracha is more like ketchup than real hot sauce, its for the weak hearted. People with honky taste buds think theyve got into something edgy, but its just a sweet squeezable mess that isnt as univeral a true hot sauce.

I like Tabasco but Crystal ranks higher.

It has more of a sweet flavor with a little zing aftertaste.

As much as I like it, it's made in New Jersey.

I can't put that over my home state's hot sauces.

Tobasco vs. other hot sauces is like
wine vs. grape juices
