Once you get used to drinking black coffee, especially good coffee, you'll feel like adding cream and sugar is like adding Coke to a nice single barrel whiskey. I use cream and sugar if my only coffee option in something like Folgers.

Yep, but I want to get a cold coffee extract maker as another option, the lowered acid levels of that coffee produced will amaze your taste buds. But I cannot use sugar in even the tiniest amount.

I don't get why drinking black coffee is seen as some kind of test of manliness. We always grew up drinking it au lait, and right now I prefer about 1/3 milk to 2/3 coffee. If that means I'm not a "real" coffee drinker I can live with that.

It has nothing to do with "manliness" for me, I would just like to reduce my sugar intake

I'm not saying it's a manly/non-manly thing, I'm just saying that, to me, cream and sugar mask the real flavor of the coffee.

Try Dunkin' Donuts coffee. It has a different flavor from the ones you have there.

I'm not a DD fan myself, but many people are.

Didn't mean to pick on you personally; this is just something I've heard from others. And maybe manliness was a bad word, more like a true coffee connisseur drinks it black. Not like Larry the Cable Guy manliness.

That's probably true. Good coffee shouldn't need sugar or cream.

I just happened to find a coffee that I really enjoyed and had run out of creamer and decided it was good enough that I could probably drink it black. Add in that to going on a diet where I can drink as much black coffee as I want and it was a pretty easy conversion. I can even drink our shite coffee at work without any additives.

That's my point. I don't like it at all. Lots of people think it is great.
