New fave is Rowan's Creek. Very smooth with full flavor.
Second fave is Baker's.
I highly recommend you try Rowan's Creek, but you won't likely find it at "the bar", even at Ruth's. You'll have to chance it and buy the whole 5th, and it is an expensive chance tasting at $32 per bottle.
Buy the way, I can't tell you how many times I order a Baker's, and they bring me Makers. (i say my B's really good, too). Not a terrible mistake, but still.....

Had some Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 the other day, that was fricking fantastic.
Normally Knob Creek is a preferred sipping bourbon.
Ezra Brooks (90 proof) if I'm mixing.

yes, you are correct, it is a "Tn. sipping whiskey" from Tullahoma, Tn. Sooooooo, call the Bourbon Police!!!
No need. But FYI, it does not matter where it is made. It is the process by which it is made that determines bourbon classification.

Alright Boo. I'll look for some Pappy Van Winkle and try it out.
But this Rowan's Creek has a nice palate.

Actually, it does. Bourbon can only come from Kentucky. Additionally, bourbon's mash is different from traditional whiskey, so in that, you are correct. But if you made Beam in Tennessee, you couldn't call it 'bourbon'.

Technically at least, I think you're incorrect about this. The only limitation on the "bourbon" designation is that in order to be called "Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey" it must be made in Kentucky. Other than that, "Bourbon" can be made pretty much anywhere.
For example: New York Bourbon Whiskey

I like Rowan's Creek, and it is becoming more widely available. Have you tried Noah's Mill? Same distillery, but aged longer and higher alc./vol.

Booker's is great but it will knock you on your arse.

Haven't tried Noah's Mill. I'll put that on the list. Thanks for that recommendation.
