It's really fun actually. This is easily the best installment since AC4 and I actually prefer this game because of the location and time setting. I think the plot is weak af, but the visuals (especially the water) is just amazing. Definitely recommend for PC (assuming your rig has great components).

I'll pick it up for XBOne after I finish up Zelda and Mario. I take forever to finish a game these days between work, fiancé, and charity fundraisers. I've always loved ancient Egypt stories and all of the AC installments minus AC3. This should be a slam-dunk unless they really frick it up.

its almost completely different in terms of game play. I started on hard difficulty and the fighting is so damn tough. Not a fan of the animus pulse, but I really like the main character. Definitely feels like Far Cry married Witcher 3 and had a baby.

I really hate the parts where you get yanked from the game to focus on the present day crap.

I love it. I do think the animus pulse is an improvement than the usual mode you go into to view stuff. Exploring is super fun and really cool world. I'm going super slow.
I haven't gotten too far in the main story but it does seem like the outside the animus parts are way way de emphasized

Wish they removed it completely.

Yes. My favorite part is the water. It just looks amazing, especially when you’re sailing on a boat.

It's just a massive world. I like most of the changes, but sometimes it doesn't really feel like an AC game to me. I know the game play in the older games got stale for a lot of people, but there's just a disconnect, imo.
There's almost too much to do, as well. Not meant as a criticism, it's just huge. I get side-tracked from the main story and go exploring.

I know, this is probably why many people (myself included) are enjoying this game, because it’s not like the previous games.

Like with every big open world game, there is a ton of side quests, collectibles, objectives, etc. I ended up ignoring the main story to do side quests and now I’m level 30 doing main story quests where the enemies are level 18 and I’m slashing them down with ease lol.
It’s definitely a great world they built. I’m gonna really enjoy this game because knowing Ubisoft, they’ll find a way to frick up again with the next game.

Picked this up in the buy 2 get 1 free and I'm really enjoying it. This is by far my favorite AC since 2 and I think when it's all said and done will be better. Really loving Egypt, such a nice change of pace for the series.

I'm very pleasantly surprised. I'm a huge AC fan, but the last couple have gotten a little stale. Outside of great locations (Paris and London) the stories and gameplay were just the same old, same old.
I was worried Bayek was going to be a bore like Connor. He's been much better than I had hoped. Ezio is still the best, with Jacob and Kenway being the most interesting after that. I'd put Bayek on the same level as Arno or Shay but with a better game/environment surrounding Bayek. I like his interactions with the other characters a lot.
Combat is very different. I still haven't mastered it. I'm leveling up so fast that the enemies on the quests and side missions are fairly easy to just hack and slash. Fine with me.
Not sure what I think of the main story so far. I don't really like it or dislike it at this point. I just got to the part where you take over Aya but haven't done anything with her yet. So far it's just a simple revenge followed by a bigger conspiracy with more revenge. I think it's too early to tell at this point how I'll judge it.
The side quests and activities are enjoyable for the most part. They tie into the world very nicely. You're not just assassinating random NPCs or fetching something for the heck of it. I haven't found myself getting bored yet. On the contrary, I find myself saying that I'll do just one more mission or tower climb...only to keep going another hour or two.
Egypt is a very cool setting and is really well done. Yesterday I found myself very close to the Giza pyramids so I took off to explore them. I've been trying to stick to an area until I clear it or take care of everything at my level or below. Climbing the Pyramid of Giza was awesome. Exploring them was not as cool as I had hoped. It was okay, but nothing epic.
Modern day stuff is horrible. Nothing pisses me off more than finishing a mission and thinking about where I want to go next, only to be pulled out of the immersion for some pointless modern day shite. Either make modern day a bigger part of the game with real meaning that I want to play or get rid of it. The modern day stuff in AC2 and Brotherhood was decent. It added to the lore and you got to do some stuff that advanced the story. AC3 had some good modern day stuff if I remember. The rest is crap that takes me completely out of the experience. In this case, less is not more. None is more, and more is more.
Can't wait to get home and play some more!

It feels more like an action RPG than any game before it. Side activities are "mostly" relegated to Horizon/Witcher style substories that vary in quality rather than the typical take down x amount of forts, random assassination missions, or a lot of the other side stuff that was easily ignorable in previous games. You have to do them in so much as to make sure you're leveled appropriately for the main story missions.
I'm mixed on this. I think I like the old games better from the standpoint of where you had all your tools unlocked from the start, and it was just a mater of getting better gear. Like, I don't enjoy having to wait 5 hours into the game to get a smoke bomb or not at all depending on what choices I make on the skill tree.

OK I had to buy this game because of the setting. So far I have run into this:
- Two crashes to desktop
- The game doesn't support 5.1 or 7.1
And I have a total of 5 minutes in game.

Overhaul everything. Newest gen i7 processor, 1080TI, 32gb RAM; assuming you can even afford this?
