Yeah, I could see it being like Destiny with shared common spaces but nothing that requires other people.
I'm wondering if it would be more like an online survival game that incorporates the base building from FO4. Hopefully something where I could do a private server with friends or have the option of going at it alone. Single player is one of the top reasons I love FO and ES games.

Nothing remotely online about this. If you're referring to the Star Wars MMO, Star Wars games have their issues that go beyond "the internet".

Elder Scrolls (until 6 is announced I consider ESO a franchise ruiner)
You serious, Clark? Even if ESO is a disaster (game is a lot better now and they just released a new expansion), a new Elder Scrolls will come along. If you haven't been paying attention, they are not an annual installment.

GTA (no expansions or new games anywhere on the horizon)
GTA online has been a huge success and cash cow. They seem to be releasing content for it all the time. Red Dead is releasing this year and of course a new GTA will come eventually.

Not even sure where to begin on this one.

I've always maintained a Fallout MMO would be great fun. But even if it's a survival type game like what you just listed, I'd be down.

Yeah no shite there was nothing remotely online about KotOR 1 and 2. That's both why they were great games. A 3rd would have been even better but instead they made an online one.

I couldn't care less if it's a disaster, success, or whatever. The issue is the fact that it even exist. No one expects ES to be an annual release, but 7-10 years between is ridiculous.

The internet has focused gaming development more towards online/multiplayer instead of quality single player games. I hate online/multiplayer games. So yes, the internet has done harm to gaming.
You probably like online games so you obviously have a different opinion, but not everybody likes that shite.

I want Fallout with a Souls coop and invasion system

So because the introduction of online gaming has allowed these studios to put out content that quite a lot of people like, but it's not your cup of tea, it's "done harm" to gaming?
Also remember, Bethesda does a lot more than just Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. Since 2010 they've resurrected Doom and Wolfenstein, introduced the Rage, Dishonored, Evil Within, and Prey series.
I'm looking forward to the next ES as much as the next person, but lets not blame the bad old internet for the delay. Even if you don't like it, ESO has become a big success for them with two expansions. People like those games.

I hope that we aren't confined to the vault the entire game. That would be a disappointment. If you don't count the beginning of 4, this is the earliest set Fallout game yet. I'm curious what the wasteland looked like just 20 years after The Great War.
Apparently Vault 76 is in Washington DC

There’s a massive “reclamation day” banner. 0% chance you’re confined to the vault the whole time.

That's interesting. We back in the Capital Wasteland?
Posted on 5/30/18 at 12:11 pm to sicboy
It seems like the game is set entirely in the vault so it won't really matter where exactly it is.

Where are ya'll getting this?

Thought using the song lyric "West Virginia" was the hint for the setting?

I'm just guessing based on the name and the fact they couldn't have spent a ton of time developing this. And the time period it's set in. If it's only 20 years after the bombs could you even go outside?

Why do you say this? Fallout 4 was released in 2015 and this is nothing but a reveal.
Posted on 5/30/18 at 12:20 pm to Mystery
Bethesda doesn't have a habit of revealing things more than a year before they're set to be released.

Again, where do you get this? We have no idea how long this has been in development. And if they are just building off of FO4 assets, they wouldn't need a really long development cycle.
Also, the guy in the teaser talked about rebuilding after the fallout has settled. They're not going to stay in the vault. Plus, as far as them doing a poor job rebuilding the Capital Wasteland, who knows what goes wrong. Could see the origins of ghouls and super mutants.

Just watched the trailer again. Damn, I'm stoked.
