Looking at some of y'all's I notice the elixirs and gold mines are outside of the walls. Why not build wall around those? Do u only lose elixir and gold from the storage when getting attacked?

Nah you can lose from both but they hold a lot less, especially when you have no shield and like me and click on them before you log off/sign off. So if they only attack those on outside sometimes they may only get a couple hundred to thousand depending on how long it takes for someone to attack.

can you pick who you attack? lately ive been put up against people that are far more advanced than me. i can't even get passed some cannons

Yeah just click next opponent or whatever it is when you are on the attack screen. It costs a couple hundred gold coins to do this but is definitely worth it. To give you an idea, I will sometimes spend 3-5 minutes finding the perfect person to attack. You will also never lose any trophies unless you deploy troops.

I would focus on gold/elixir when attacking.
I just checked out your village and I would put the mines/elixir creator on the outside and double your wall around the town hall/storages/defenses. You really don't need to protect the mines at all. I would also bring the clan castle closer to the rest of your village. it will defend everything when you get attacked if you have troops in it.
