Big update just happened. Fixed some NPC quest lines, nerfed some weapons and weapon arts. NPCs now have a marker

This update is very significant, especially in terms of critical bug fixes. Arcane builds can finally function properly now.

I’m a level 60 and considering a respec. Currently I’m like 25 vigor, 22 str as my highest with intelligence and faith at like 12. If I want a more hybrid build, should I focus on one or the other? Faith seems more useful

What is your build specifically? Like weapons of choice

I’ll have to check my stats later. If I had to guess like 26 vig, 15 mind, 23 str, 18 dex, 19 stamina, 14 int, 12 faith, havent touched arcane.
Switching between bloodhound fang +3 and the curved sword that heals you at +11. It does well but is so short it’s hard to hit bosses. Both do like 200 base damage.
I’ve beaten Godrick and Renela. The Caelid boss was wrecking me so I went to Atlas plateau where I keep dying in caves.
I want to do something with magic it looks more fun but having to grind out 15 levels in faith or int seems daunting

If you've beaten Renela, you should be able to talk to her and respec your character. If you're going to lean heavily on magic, it may be worth your time to move some of that Vigor/Strength/Dex over to Intelligence/Faith/Mind instead.

my no summon/no ash run is still alive. was finally able to beat Radahn last night after 1.5hrs. There were a few times where I got him down to a sliver of HP only to be killed by his goddamn purple orbs. I was so tempted to break and summon all the NPCs to roflstomp him, but I held steady.
trying to decide where I want to head next. So many options

Happened to me last night...I just turned off the game and went to bed.

So, magic just got buffed. My recommendation would be to find a weapon that scales in both DEX/INT or STR/FAITH. Those two pairings usually go well together. I don't know if there's really a need to have a balanced build, so at this point I would start committing to one build if I were you. Go the DEX/INT if you like sorcery or STR/FAITH if you like incantations. Later on, you can combine the two (which is what I am doing) to run both incantations and sorcery, but that is way later in the game.

ngl, this is good news, because I just cheesed him with summons last time around. About to do NG+ and I don't want to be stuck on him for as long as I've seen people have

Sooooo....I've never played any Dark Souls and have never played an open world game I'd consider difficult.
Thinking about trying out Elden Ring. Will i have any fun or will it just be a waste of money?

Depends on your tolerance for losing. Game is fun as hell, but you will die, alot. If losing alot pisses you off, you may not have fun.

Your mileage may vary.
In my opinion, the souls series is not hard. It's got a bit of a learning curve because the combat system is extremely unintuitive and the game tells you jack shite about key details. See rolling through stuff for exhibit A.
Once you get past the learning curve to understand the basic game mechanics and start abusing RPG mechanics as usual, things can get trivial pretty fast. A few, select bosses will be challenging, and that's about it.
Like I said, your mileage may vary. I already played DS 1 through 3 in the past.

So if you can imagine Skyrim/Dark Souls/Bloodborne/BOTW had a baby, it's Elden Ring.
Toss in Witcher 3 to that parentage.
