The only thing I'm disappointed in with regards to character appearances for this game is that they took out the morality morphing. No more faint Halo's or growing horns. :/

yep. terrible decision IMO. was very unique and iconic in the Fable series.

I understand its not easy to pull off but to remove it completely seems lazy. It probably wouldve pushed back release another year though

Or maybe, just maybe, it's twenty-fricking-twenty-six and they didn't think they had to explain some basic mechanic that's existed in open world RPGs for over a decade just to assuage your fragile ego?

Nope. That's not it.

Half the outrage when the teaser trailer dropped two years ago was because there was a black guy in medieval England in a fantasy game. The misogynistic and racist b/s is tiresome. There are far more games that force you to play as a white guy than any other race or gender. And I say this as a white dude.

This makes sense. The majority of gamers are white dudes. It's okay to be white. And a dude. There's nothing wrong with demanding your entertainment be the same.

You are the problem, not us.

It's also hilarious for a grown man to be so fragile that seeing a made up character of a different race breaks them.

Especially when video games at their core are supposed to be an escape from the real world.

You should learn some introspection. The world doesn't revolve around you.

The running theory is that the last delay was to quickly add in character creation. There's some merit to the theory as well just based on circumstantial evidence.

Regardless it was a very wise move if thats what happened.

Game still looks gay and woke as shite.

Nothing quite screams European fairy tales like blacks and Asians walking around the village.

well the game is a fairy tale and it doesn't take place in Europe.

The name of the game is literally "Fable", which means "not real".

Its a video game set in a fake world.

I dont understand how having make believe characters with black, yellow, blue, red, or green skin colors can offend someone.

Lionhead actually famously tried to put a black woman on the cover of Fable 2 and the publisher shut them down.

quote:

"We were like, the game’s not for eight year-olds," Lionhead art director John McCormack said of complaints from parents about their kids being exposed to homosexuality. "It’s a mature-rated game. So it’s not really our problem. It’s yours. And, I hope you rot in hell. With Fable 2 we were like, right, gay marriage, lesbianism, f*ck you. We revelled in it."

The conflict wasn’t limited to religious puritans, however – it also led to arguments with publisher Microsoft.

"They were going, you can’t have a black person on the cover, and you can’t have a woman. And you want a black woman,” McCormack added. And I was like, yes, I do, because it’s about be whatever hero you want. No. It’s a white guy. That’s just the way it is. We know what sells and that’s fricking it. Stop the arguing. I was like, f*ck you! That was a huge fight.

"They said, what’s the most unsuccessful Disney film? I was like, I don’t know. They went, Princess and the Frog. Work it out. I was like f*ck you, man. I hated it. I was screaming at them in conference calls. I lost it at that point, because they just weren’t getting the game. Especially because we were the first ever game that had gay marriage, we were about breaking down walls. It was meant to be funny and mature.

They just took none of it and just did the usual white guy with a sword on the front. Damn it! You missed the point!"

If you enjoyed the previous fables and are mad about this one, maybe look at yourself to find out what changed.

Right.... Huge oversight imo. Thankfully I'll be playing on PC so hopefully there's a mod for it Day 1.
