I really want to try this game out but I am not keen on the investment when I have a PS4 and am somewhat content with it.

What are some advantages of the switch.

What makes BOTW so great? Is it a looter RPG (love those)?

I'm borrowing a Switch right now, and although BOTW is a great game that everyone should get to play, it's a stretch to say it's worth the $300 to play it. The Switch is getting a lot of ports, but they're available on your PS4. People are going to tout the portability, but I have yet to find a game that I like playing on portable mode. Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart. I'm sure there are some but it's just not comfortable to me and hard to control. I've played everything docked with a pro controller.

If you have a Wii U or know someone who does, get Zelda for that......and find a pro contoller. That Wii U tablet is even worse.

I love BOTW, but if you you don't plan on getting any other switch games, getting a switch isn't worth it.

The Switch looks like it's going to have a lot of great nintendo games, as well as a few jrpg and strategy games coming to it. I haven't bought one yet since I had the wii u for BOTW, but the other games that are coming to the switch make it worth it for me.

No. There isn't a game to me worth 300. But the switch is a great console. I use it mostly as a handheld and have the ps4 as my main console. There are a lot of great games and many on the way.

Depends on how much you like zelda, where your at financially, house paid for, car paid for, credit card balances, retirement savings, number of kids and how much you intend to spend on them, significant other and how much they expect you to spend on them, animals, maintenance, utilities, gas, Christmas spending, travel expenses and how much you like to eat out or are you okay with ramen

If you buy a switch and only buy zelda the entire time you own it, you deserve to lose that money. There's way too many good games for the switch for that shite.

I have a Switch and X1, and I buy all of my multi-plat indies on the Switch now. Just makes way more sense if they aren't heavily multiplayer.

PC, Switch and PS4 will give you everything needed to experience the gaming landscape as a whole. You can leave out the XBONE since it doesn't have the great 1st party titles like the Switch and PS4. Plus you can get them all on PC.

IMO it was this way with the Wii U. The great library that PoS held allowed it to perfectly complement a traditional console and/or PC.

From 2012-2017 I think was Nintendo just blue balling themselves until they blew their load with like 2-3 GOAT games coming out all near the same time. Breath of the Wild had me playing for nearly 300 hours.

Like others have said, it’s hard to justify a console for one game.

That said, i think it’s a great console and it already has a pretty good library.

Still, a lot depends on how you’d use it. Between BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids, and Skyrim (somehow never played it before), I’ve played the switch for around 200 hours and about 190 of those hours were in handheld mode.

If you don’t care about handheld gaming or don’t like playing the switch that way, then you better really like Nintendo games.

If you like Nintendo games and handheld gaming, it’s a must and a great console.

I would buy the Switch just for BOTW without a second thought.

Or buy a WiiU and get BOTW if you want to play it for less money.
