Yep this is gonna be a huge seller in Japan. It is gonna dominate the JRPG market. I don't think it needs much 3rd party support to be successful.

Oh god. It's essentially 1 1/2 months away

And it releases a couple of days before my birthday. Makes it kinda more awesome. When you're an adult you don't get cool shite anymore for Christmas or birthday

This is where they lost me.

They should have doubled down on the tried and true.

I really wanted an Animal Crossing or Metroid sequel, or an F-Zero reboot or something.

I'm hoping they get back to focusing on those core properties that really are popular but they seem to have left behind for some reason. That just bugs me.

I mean I really like Splatoon, and 8 system local multiplayer is kind of awesome, but Animal Crossing is like the perfect game for this system. That are a Harvest Moon.

Don't even know what Xenoblade is but saw the trailer and thought. "I wish final fantasy still looked like this"

this presentation was kind of a lot of miss.... BUT - these big names in gaming will be playing the switch - on twitch tomorrow, that could potentially be huge: twitch and YouTube are the big areas people get their gaming news these days

Mario Kart per usual is probably 2 years out. Only 64 has been in the launch window.

Lack of Smash does surprise me though. They actually are heavily rumored not to be making a new one for this generation and just porting the Wii U version with 6-8 more characters and all Wii U DLC. Thought for sure they'd announce it with Inkling being a new character and maybe Shovel Knight.

Metroid though, if you were expecting it, you are naive. The world would have collectively shite itself with a new Metroid Prime game. Good to hear from the presentation that the controls perfectly lend themselves for Metroid Prime. They have to make one for this generation.

Was I the only one that saw F-Zero in that end trailer? I thought they confirmed it was in the works there.

Trailer

First year lineup is already looking very strong, especially when you consider that Smash 4 "Deluxe" and Pokemon Stars will probably be out within a year as well.

I'm assuming Nintendo is saving those for E3 though.

Yeah, with that, Smash probably isn't coming out this year. They'll wait until next year or the holidays. Developing a fighter for Smash takes much more time than a racer or course for Mariokart.

I'd be shocked if in 3 years they didn't make Mariokart 9. It's not as dependent on its physics and doesn't have as long of a development time as Smash does.
