I mean, they should have given the conference over to the NA team and allowed the NA or even European team to make a more E3 type presentation...
yeah, reggie has that annoying corporate gimmick down to a tee. as fake as I know it is, there's a reason they teach that shite...it works.

everything is smaller than I thought it would be.
We can all joke about tiny Asian guys and their hands, but seriously whenever I watched the presentation and saw how small it looked even in the presenters hands' I knew that I would get excruciating hand cramps just attempting to use it. The pro controller would be what I would get, but oh wait? It's $80? frick you Nintendo.

I would play every single thing on that pro controller.

even then the only games I'm really worried about are their exclusive 1st party games.
The reason I bought the ps4 was for bloodborne, Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, and The Last of Us
The whole "all I care about are 1st party" argument is stupid, that's the only reason you buy a ps4 over an xbox, or neither, cause you can play everything on PC

Xbox and PlayStation
I can understand your desire for PS and Xbox wanting Nintendo support. Both of their first party lineups are embarrassing.

So now I'm confused. Are the games discs or cartridges?

Splatoon 2 looks awesome, I like the updates to the gameplay... like dodging!

The DS games use cartridges because they can hold much more data than a disc can hold by a mile. If those cartridges were the size of an actual disk, the entire game would fit on about 1/5 of its actual memory capacity.

Not really. It's a factor, sure, but think about how shitty the call of duty games performed online for the PS3 for a long time. If online MP was big for you, you went with the 360, hands down. I would take Halo over MGS any day (I know that went to PC and the xbox as well), but I went with the PS4 because I felt the PS4 was a better performing machine, liked the controller better (big improvement from the PS3 controller), and some other reasons I can't think of.

3 regualr rings, and engagement ring, and a spiked bracelet for that baw

The disk in that picture is from the 24-song soundtrack that comes with the Master edition.

All I know is I'm 31 days plus the balance of January from playing what looks like might be the best Zelda game
That trailer was freaking sick. Never has Zelda looked that cinematic. Skyward sword is the most cinematic one, but I wasn't a huge fan of the puzzle filled overworld though I appreciated what they tried to do and liked that they took the risk
This one is full of risks that look more likely to pay off

[quote]but I see why they didn't, it was said very early on in this thread - we, the Western world, are NOT their customer. They want all of the Eastern gamers back.../quote]
Those Eastern gamers aren't coming back. They've moved to smartphones and aren't coming back.
You just have to adapt to Japan becoming a more niche market (sales now similar to the UK alone, rather than competing with the US) and making their titles appeal to the world at large.
Nintendo consoles have done better in the US and Europe for the past 4 generations. While I agree that this Tokyo-based event was for Japan first, they obviously have to care about the West. 1, because they included those offices in the presentation and 2, because the device will fail otherwise.

What are you talking about? DS game carts hold up to 512MB data maximum. 3DS games just got the ability to hold up to 8GB of data (was 2GB at first and then new version to 4GB).
Are you referencing that game saves can be stored on carts?
Posted on 1/13/17 at 10:33 am to oauron
Yes. Much more capacity than data writing on a disk.

Haven't played a Nintendo system since the gamecube and never played a zelda but I'm in now. Zelda and xenoblade looked great and skyrim and 2k on the go is a dream.

Those controllers look horrible to play with.

Following Nintendo's Switch reveal presentation last night, more details of the company's online service have emerged.
Like Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus, Switch's service charges a fee. This service won't go online until this fall; a free trial for Nintendo Account holders will take its place in the interim.
Subscribers are privy to perks like discounts on certain digital games, and one free NES or SNES game per month. However, if Nintendo's phrasing can be taken at face value, subscribers lose access to that free game the next month.
"Subscribers will get to download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Nintendo Entertainment System game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month," according to Nintendo's website.
That's a far cry from Xbox Live Gold and PS Plus, both of which offer more modern titles that players keep so long as they remain subscribed to the service.
Nintendo did not explicitly mention a Virtual Console-type service for Switch during its presentation. While it's likely the service will return—it's existed in some form since its debut on the Wii in 2006—as of right now no one knows if there will be a way to purchase classic titles.
The news isn't all bad. Nintendo's press release mentions online multiplayer for NES and SNES games, which would breathe new life into moldy-oldies like Capcom's original Street Fighter 2 (1992), an exclusive for SNES and a major coup for Nintendo during the "16-bit wars" against Sega.
