I’ve actually never played Nioh but have always been interested. Cohh mentioned this in regards to the difficulty:

got this vibe from the demo,
Same, and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into the first two or if it’s legitimately easier. They might’ve also made the demo portion a little more forgiving. Either way I have a feeling the DLC’s will a huge difficulty spike.

For anyone wondering, your entire save file transfers from the demo.

I really should have taken today off from work. It’s going to be torture waiting until tonight to play the full game.
Finally took down a Bloodedge Demon last night though. That was satisfying

I am off work today and got to play for a couple of hours before the wife and kid got up and ruined everything

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but unfortunately I have Asian game fatigue.
Hope those that are playing it are having a good time.

I’m about to finish the Warring States map and I’m already fatigued lol.
95% of the same yokai and bosses from Nioh 1/2. Omg so fun to beat up on Hino Enma and the Siamese red/blue statue guy for the 600th time in my Nioh career
It’s no wonder they make these games so fast.

In the 2nd major area now and enjoying the game so much man
Dual Swords on Samurai feel so good to use with the new arts prof mechanic. Ninjutsu has also felt much better to use than I thought it would at first

still getting used to the combat loop in this game. I am enjoying myself overall, but I really need to learn the appropriate rhythm in boss fights.
I can get stomped the frick out by bosses in fromsoft titles and it won't bother me because I understand the rules and it usually feels fair.
Sometimes as I play this, the flow of combat shifts on a dime. I didn't think that I raged at games anymore. nope, I just wasn't playing nioh.
Having to unlearn my dark souls/elden ring roll spamming and focus on my blocking/ki management.

I played the original Nioh forever ago.
I have owned Nioh 2 for quite some time but slept on it. Tried to speed run it to bridge the gap but decided to just jump straight into 3. Plot doesn’t seem to matter too much (at least not to me anyway).
I’ve mainly been trying to chain combos with samurai and turtling up for aggro. Ki management is getting easier. It’s a mixed bag whenever I try to do a red move counter. So satisfying when it works but sadly it’s anything but a sure thing,
I am largely doing glorified button mashing but I might try to be more strategic with stance changes and my movesets for weapons as the difficulty curve continues to climb.
Got this horsebound general yokai boss giving me fits currently.

Nioh 2 is significantly better than Nioh 1, and Nioh 3 is Nioh 2 DLC.

I’ve noticed that the enemy designs and some boss designs are reused quite a bit even with my limited experience of the second title.
So long as I’m having fun with the combat, I don’t care so much.

Definitely in late game now. I made more of an effort to use ninja mode and weave it in more with samurai since I have been defaulting to samurai more often than not. Man, I have been underestimating ninja's potential, especially when used with samurai.
