Maxed a pidgeotto out to just over 300cp. Evolved to a 572 Pidgeot. Ill take it.

Those colors on the rings when catching mean difficulty to catch I believe. Which could coincide with rarity

Just caught a bellsprout, staryu, krabby, and ponyta at Chili's in Lafayette. Had a Pincer in the area, but wife wasn't having any of that. Couldn't go find it. Also a parasect, but I've seen a few of those elsewhere.

Nice. Yeah it seems restaurants are hotspots. And shopping centers. Any place with a lot of commercial activity.

Tell me about it. I live outside of Opelousas. Lot of pidgeys and rattatas. Not much of anything else. Did catch a tauros down the street today.

I caught a Pincir and a Staryu was in my area not too long ago. Also didn't take me long to catch all of the starters outside of Pikachu.

The game seems to be be programmed so that more people in an area playing the game results in more and rarer pokemon. It'd make more sense to me that less people = rarer pokemon

Yeah I'm on the outskirts of Houston kind of in the woods and see a lot of the same. I'm about to evolve my second evee but other than that my best are scyther and pidgeys final form. I saw kadabra in the area but was at work so that wasn't happening. Got abra instead. Poliwag. Jiggly puff. Low level stuff. I need to hit a gym again.

Hopefully evee's evolve isn't determined by which team we pick so we can get the different ones. I'm banking on my picking blue team and getting the blue evee being a coincidence.

The eggs in the shop are just EXP boosts. You get Pokemon eggs from pokestops.

That's a pretty good list. Some I've seen on my map aren't listed and some that are in common I haven't seen. And I've covered well over 20km yesterday afternoon and today.
Moltress, zapdos and articuno are definitely put there. I had Moltress in my map briefly.
In the myth section, the one with the kangaroo pouch. Saw one of those on my map as well.
