Characters are okay. Something seems off with facial expressions but think that is just because everything else looks fckking real.

I watched that stupid motherfricker walk off a cliff yesterday. Luckily, I was able to get down to his crumpled horse arse before he died for real and revive him so I didn't have to start from scratch with, possibly, a smarter horse.
In hindsight, I probably should've gone with the maybe smarter horse.

I've played 3 or 4 missions around Valentine, but I'm strongly considering waiting to fully play this till after they patch it and implement quality of life improvements. More fast travel, possible less clunky movements, other people get to do all the trial and error methods for playing, etc.
Did the same thing with Witcher 3, started it at release, but didn't start again and finish it till a little after all the DLC had released. Glad I waited to fully play it so I could appreciate it more without nagging complaints that required waiting for a patch.

Does it work if the horse disappears? Fell off the waterfall and nowhere to be found. Just had an icon for my saddle but I couldn’t even find that. I had to go back to a stable.

I'm having a problem where when I try to speak to companion it won't let me. I'm going up to him and holding LT to interact with them but it doesn't work. Anyone else have this issue?

Haha! This reminds me of Skyrim. I really wish I had time to play.
How is open world randomness in this one compared to GTA?

This is probably my second biggest annoyance. The number of times I don't have the weapons I want on me is absurd, and no matter how often I set them they seem to just randomly reset back to nothing equipped. Luckily the horse is always nearby but still.
My single biggest annoyance is how slow you walk in camp. Regular walking is slow enough, not sure why they slow it down even more in camp. I actively avoid camp just because of how painfully slow movement in camp is. I think they want you to have interactions with the people but ugh it's unbearable to walk from one side of camp to the next.
The slow arse animations searching through drawers and stuff is also something that never stops being irritating.
Almost all the other things I found annoying I've mostly gotten used to. Just hit chapter 3.

I found it as well, it's sorta east and a little south of the oil refinery I believe.
It's very close to the area you get your first treasure hunt mission. One of the debtors you collect from gives you a map that takes you to a tree and it's very near there, I stumbled across it after that.
There's a mission later where you meet some cultists and I'm assuming it's the same cult perhaps.

In addition to one in the burnt out village, there's three in a game nearby the end of the bear-hunting mission in Chapter 2. Hidden Maesters on Youtube has a video for it, I just can't link it right now

I’m really slowplaying the game so I probably put in 12 hours over the weekend and I’m still on chapter two and have been upgrading the camp so I’m strapped for coin. Definitely going to go find that gold bar when I get back to playing. Selling pelts just doesn’t cut it yet
I found the valentine drug store’s side business and tried knocking on the door to rob it but it never gave me the option. How to you rob the side business? Do I have to actually rob the doctor in the front? I’d like to get away with it without getting a wanted status. That possible?
