I can actually run a game without having to pause it every 5 minutes.
I don't think my wife knows how annoying that is

Is anyone else like me where they have trouble getting consumed now because of responsibilities and growing up which sucks
Yep. I probably would've played through Bioshock Infinite in 2 or 3 5 hour sittings in the past. Instead it took me more like 10 - 15 one our sessions spread out over a month, and it was the only thing I was playing.

The last boss kicked my arse a few times (read somewhere around a dozen)
I know what you mean. It was a great final boss. The hilarious part was FINALLY beating him and then realizing he has 2 forms and you were only half way there.

Even if she did, would that stop her from pushing those buttons? Ah, grown up life. I have 9-10 games unopened in the office. Will they ever get played, I don't know....
The 6 month old dictates everything now.

Halo custom games with my friends
We played a game called cat & mouse forever. 2 people would be in wraiths and everyone else in warthogs. Wraiths weren't allowed to boost for the first minute and couldn't shoot until the last minute.
It was its best in Halo 2's blood gulch, but we kept it alive through every version to come out since then.
Long matches of CTF on blood gulch had to be one of my favorites as well.

Halo 2 and MW2 at their prime on Live.

FFX, Kotor, Early EQ, FF7. Those were were really the last games I can remember just being consumed by and thoroughly enjoying to the point where I would play all day if I had nothing better to do.

RDR easily for me. Throw OoT in there as well.

Halo 2 on Xbox Live, or the countless LAN's we had during school years. Half Life 2 and GTA3.

kotor is probably the last game I had time to consume me. I bought an xbox 1 summer in college just to play kotor 1 and 2. I don't remember sleeping and I remember being at work thinking about kotor.

Obviously all of the zeldas.
Socom 2 was probably my favorite game of all time. I put so much damn time into that game, that was also the last game where I had a significant amount of irl friends playing regularly. I am lucky if I can get 1 or 2 to play cod nowadays. A lot had to do with the timing (8th grade-freshman yr of HS) where we didnt have anything else to do.

Halo and Goldeneye are easy answers.
Sidescrolling shooters from the early 90's too. Early Duke Nukem, etc.

This for sure, I remember playing and wanting to see the other endings and just continuing on trying to see as many as I could.

For me alone
Metal Gear Solid
GTA3
Halo 3
With my bro
Banjo Kazooie
Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Kart
With friends
GTA Vice City
Mario Kart 64
Halo 2
WWF Smackdown 2
So many more come to mind and they are all older. Don't play much now that I'm older and have other responsibilities and none of my friends are "gamers" anymore so it isn't is fun a lot of times.

Goldeneye matches with people bitching when someone picked odd job

Our house rule was that if you picked odd job, you were subject to any random physical abuse during the game.
