So let me get this straight: You can have an opinion that the year is a good year, but I can't have an opinion that the year was weak?

Also, I actually don't want Scalebound, and possibly not Crackdown, but they look like great games. Scalebound just doesn't look like my style, unless it gets closer to something like Bayonetta. And Crackdown... it just depends.
That doesn't mean they won't be great games, my personal opinion has no bearing on whether or not they are great, but they do seem to be unique, which is more than I can say for about 80% of the games on the list in the OP.

I would say Uncharted 4 is the only game with significant votes that was rehashed. But I get what you are saying with games next year looking more fresh.

I forgot about forza. I played an absolute ton of forza horizons when it came out. really great racing game.

all the fresh stuff will get pushed to 1Q 2018 and all we will get in 2017 will be AAA title rushed moneygrabs.

I think I was burnt by GoW4. I was super excited and then it just fell flat. I ran through GoW2 on BC just before I played it and it was just the same game twice in a row.
Granted I would still give the game like an 8/10. High Production Values, decent story, polished controls. But it was just completely uninteresting to experience. Or, it's something I wouldn't call "The Best," because it did almost nothing actually interesting.
On the otherhand, and much like Wolfenstein, Doom felt like a completely new game. That was totally worth it, and would probably be my #2.

if ghost recon wildlands actually comes out march 7 next year and isn't a bug filled glitchy mess, ill be pleasantly surprised.
the Division could of easily been GOTY had the MP not been so bad + glitches. but it set sales records so I expect them to continue the formula
is BoTW set for March tentatively, too? or did I just imagine that

Looks great, but yeah it's another GR FPS (which I have been playing since the OG Rainbow Six. Loved that game.), and the track record here is not good.

Won't be a launch title would be my guess. Makes it in before Q2.

The amount of games listed already shows it wasn't a bad year . If you didn't like them then fine but there were a lot of quality games released.

But seriously, I feel like gaming has been good this year if you like RPGs, MOBAs, or adventure games. If you don't like any of those types of games - or even just one type, this year could feel shallow
