Settle this argument please. Playing a round with friends and two of the guys bet each other on the final par 3. One of the guys bounced in to the water and the other guy rolled into the rough. He argued that he was closet to the hole and won.

To win closet to the hole do you not have to stay on the green?

You have to be on the green to win. Both players miss, no one wins.

We play that you have to be on the green and PAR it, no 3 putts.
