Too rich for my blood.

PXG is opening a store in Houston at the end of May.

It's all relative. I've seen guys spend a lot more than that at Club Champion.

I heard that the Houston PXG store is going to be close to River Oaks where money is no issue.

I’d understand that price if they were the best clubs, but they are not. Ridiculous.

I hit mine well.

All the golf mags and other reviews love them.

May not be for everyone, but neither is any other club.

In 1972 I bought a set of Titlest irons for a lot less than one of the PXG irons.

Golf magazines also love Mizuno JPX921, Srixon Zx5, & TaylorMade P790. Great clubs for a fraction of PXG price

Given that I have way too many hobbies including golf, fishing, clay shooting, hunting, etc. I see a lot in terms of how the companies that provide equipment to hobbyist create the landscape for said hobby.

I’m definitely in the camp that believes more options for consumers is a good thing. Especially when it comes to golf. The big 4 could use some heat from someone else.

But Parsons marketing angle is so awful and to the point that it just pisses me off.

This is despite the fact that I personally know a design engineer at PXG who is a solid dude and very good at what he does. Also, the range days I’ve been to for PXG have had very nice people working for them with great advice.

Anyways, I still have zero PXG clubs in my bag and every time I hear KA BOOM BABY, it just reassured me I won’t be having any in there soon.

???? true story. Shows the mark-up profit they make on initial release sales

Absolutely!! They all do it.

Go check out callaway maverick and epic lines right now.

I just bought two of the epic super hybrids new in plastic for $150 off retail price when they were released.

Taylormade is even worse/better. With their insane release cycles, you get year and half old stuff for huge discounts.

I ended my career as a national brand manager, that are a lot of bad commercials out there.

Parsons had the benefit of experience in marketing GoDaddy.com.. Parsons and his advertising firm knew they had to stand out to get trial.

It's not easy breathing new life into old products and it's very tough jumping into such a mature business like golf.

New Coke was a brilliant move to create panic and breath new life into a 125 year old product. That one move solidified sales for 3 generations.

PXG as a company seems to be doing very well. They are opening another 20 stores around the country.

As far as the product itself, it performs very well for me right now.

There are several golf companies that I admire like Ping, PXG, Mizuno and others that I despise like Taylormade.
