The PGA tour just needs to set a limited number of tournaments to be active on the tour. Say 15 events, then let these guys play in the majors and on the Liv tour

The PGA Tour already has this exact clause in place. Must play 15 events minimum to maintain Tour membership.
The problem I have is requiring a "release" from the PGA Tour to go play in an event not on the Tour schedule. These guys are independent contractors; they should be allowed to go play where they want. And worse, the Tour is now requiring them to play each event at least once every 4 or 5 years under pain of losing their membership.

The PGA is about to get their asses handed to them. It seems well deserved. It’s a bunch of losers telling the best golfers what they should do and how to do it.
This last weekend is a perfect example. They made it seem like the best part of winning the memorial was getting the shake Jack’s hand on TV was the real prize.
Would that be cool? Sure.
But 4M I’m the bank is WAY better especially considering many of these guys will meet or have met Jack at some point.

You act like DJ plays every week. If the Tour didn't try to ban him he would have played the same number of events that he plays anyway.

DJ does not enter my golf watching calculus. I understand and respect him. I work as much as I have to to maintain my lifestyle. I’m 38 and would’ve retired 20 years ago if I had the means.
I like this new format. I like that it’s rattling the chains of the geezers who think they are in control of world golf.

That's 16-18 events a year. He's averaged around 20 PGA Tour events for ateast 5 years.
Is DJ not playing the Byron or Houston or Shriners really going to ruin watching golf for you?

Looks the PGA tour is being painted in a corner now. Lots of top tier talent playing in LIV events. Seeing as LIV only has 8 events I bet the PGA reverses its stance.

There's way more than 8 events where it's almost guaranteed none of these guys considering LIV are going to play.

If the LIV tournaments don’t count in the above sample, then you don’t have a PGA tour player….Because max you have 10 events non-LIV
