Looking for somewhere to play near downtown on Friday morning. What will be the best/most accessible place to play near downtown in the morning time?
TIA

Hermann park
Gus wortham
Wildcat
Memorial is kind of a PITA to create an account and get a tee time, and more expensive if you aren’t a local

Cypresswood
Stay away from Wildcat unless you like wind and blind shots - but it is the closest and has 2 18s

Gus wortham is a solid municipal course. Memorial is better but tough to get a tee time sometimes.
Not sure how far you are willing to travel from downtown, but wildcat might be an option.

Gus Wortham is in excellent condition, greens are great for a muni and pretty fast. It’s a fun layout, too, with some driveable par 4s, uphill second shots, and undulated greens. And it’s $38 on Fridays for an out of towner.
Memorial is in mediocre condition right now and it’s cart path only until after the Houston Open. And it’s $120 for someone without a Houston address.

Shut the frick up, I like being able to get a good tee time there. The cats getting out of the bag. Traditions is easily the best value in the city at $80

Gus is very good.
Memorial is awesome, its in fine condition, I've played several times the last few weeks but good luck getting a time this late. Of course same might be true for Gus. Cypresswood Tradition is fanfreakingtastic and easy drive from downtown.

Agreed. Always in great shape. I just wish it wasn't an hour from me.

We have been getting hammered with rain here in H-town so prep thy anus for cart path only probably wherever you play and get ready for some soggy conditions.
