Cypress Lakes Review

Thought he did a good job on his review. A very solid option in the river parish/metro area for golf.

I don’t necessarily agree with that but St. Charles Parish is fortunate to have two very nice courses. Grand Ridge is an excellent course. And just 15 minutes down the road from CL is Belle Terre. I’ve always loved Belle Terre’s layout. All 3 solid courses.

Played both of those courses regularly for over 40 years. I wouldn’t call either of them excellent

Grand Ridge is a lot different than when I was younger. I came to town a couple of years ago for Xmas, and my dad said I had to go check it out. I was blown away by the greens. Turtle backs with lots of shaved surrounds. I haven't been back in a few years, but I remember walking away very impressed.

Ok. Fair enough. Excellent “options”. I guess I’m partial to both because I know how far they have come. But I can see your point.

Yeah, but are you truly playing golf unless you can lose a ball in the middle of the fairway like you can at Bayou Oaks North?
Whether it’s the sinkholes or the 3” high “fairway” grass, it’s gonna get ya.

Grand Ridge has been a quality course for at least five years now. I learned to play golf there and grew up living on the course. It’s nothing like it was 30 years ago. All the credit to the course staff for making it into something to be proud of.

If it was so great it would still be Willowdale. You don’t see Oakmont changing its name.
