They don't have the ridiculous loft a lot of these new irons have either.

I’m testing a 39 inch 9 iron with 19 degrees of loft set 2 degrees closed.

I think it will really go.

Irons are literally 2.5 clubs stronger since the 60's, the clowns are like, "I hit my 8 iron 165"

I say then why do you hit your drive 260?

For me to go 260:
1. Dry, hot day.
2. Downhill.
3. Roll out really long.

The lofts are silly. My brother called me one day, “I know you love that TM 7 wood. They are making a 9 wood! You may want to try it cause you swing that 7 so good.”
My 7 wood is TM 2017 M2 with 24 degrees of loft. I pull the specs up on the “new” 9 wood.

“24 degrees.”

So I’m playing the other day. Guy says, “nice shot. What’s the loft on your 7 wood?”
I said “24 degrees.”
He says, “my 7 wood is 20 degrees. No wonder you don’t hit it as far.”

My 5 wood is 21 degrees.

So basically they’ve turned the lofts to where it’s a full club over 4 years.

In 2030, “try the Big Golf Manufacturer, 7 wood. It’s for 12 degrees of loft and a 45 inch shaft.”

The 225s look great but that’s the players distance iron. I got my hands on the 223 this week. That’s going to be the best iron of 2022.

I just bought an Apex UW that they’re bending to 21 degrees I like the look at address way better than a fairway wood but I guess it’s basically a 5 wood

Are you asking if I hit blades?

No, I hit the same faggoty (f a g g o t y) clubs that you do. Once I can strike the sweet spot more than 7 out of 10 times in a row I'll take the training wheels off.

It’s an interesting backstory. Apparently a handful of players got a prototype including Phil and enough word got around that they brought it to market last minute. You can bend one and replace a 3 wood with it. Apparently it’s also a big deal that you can use wood shafts instead of hybrid shafts too.

It will hit a lower and more penetrating flight than a 5 wood or hybrid.

I changed the shaft and put in a Small Batch Riptide in mine and it made it feel better and more user friendly.

At the fitting I was amazed at the decent angle and the spin. The balls were sticking.
