For the Houston area Golfers, I figured that we could update each other here.

Greatwood in Sugarland -

The course in my neighborhood, we lost hundreds of trees along the course.

Knowing the Lopez Group it will take them more than a while to clean them all up. We just got power back on last night. In fairness there are well over a thousand trees down in the whole neighborhood of Greatwood.

Feel free to add any courses that you might observe and any that resume play.

Magnolia Creek in League City will reopen all facilities on Thursday 7/11. This past Saturday they received 4” of rain. No word yet of rain totals from the hurricane. But they initially planned on being closed on Monday-Tuesday and reopen Wednesday. They must of had a lot more clean up to do.

Anyone know how Highland Pines in Porter fared during the storm? We have a tee time for Sunday and haven't heard much on how north Houston did in the storm.

Their FB Page says they will be closed till Friday for debris cleanup. There’s a ton of trees on the course, so I’d image a lot of tree damage.

Riverbend - multi holes had fairways flooded. Greens and tees ok. Of course lots of branches down. Not sure when we open back up - clubhouse still doesn’t have power

Thanks for the update! We've had to reschedule rounds out there twice before and of course the one time we're actually able to make it would be after a hurricane .

Bopper, will do, I'll update this thread once we play it.

Played a few days before the storm. Conditions of everything are great. My only complaint was that the greens were super bumpy. Standing 10 feet from the greens they look perfect but when you putt there were just a bunch of bumps. Not sure what to make of it. Maybe they just need more time to fill in from spring? Outside that course was in great shape.

This has been my problem with Highland Pines. I think the zoysia greens are going to be harder for them to maintain than they originally thought. They were fast and smooth early on, but they never let them grow out in order for them to repair after winter. It seems like the bumps are getting worse.

In regards to storm damage. Please advise when it may be playable again. I have a feeling they lost a ton of trees. Pine trees took a beating from this storm.

I absolutely love playing Riverbend.

One of my top 5 favorite courses in our whole area. Haven't played it is a couple of years, but to me it's a true test of every club in the bag.

Hope it rebounds well.

Makes sense. I don't know how zoysia grass is supposed to grow but the last time I played in fall they were perfect. Would be really unfortunate if they are getting worse rather than better as time goes on because I love that course. Saw they were raising rates to 165 which won’t go over well if that is the case.

I don’t understand how Kingwood has survived all it’s been through. My parents sold their lake Houston spot just before the big flood about 10/12 years ago. Henry did crazy damage as well. That area gets bodied during heavy rains.

Thier Website still says 100.00 on weekday and 125.00 weekends.

When does that rate hike go into effect ?

It’s $160 on their online booking system. If you go try to book for a weekend it says it.
