Yasir the guy in charge mentioned LIV continuing in the original CNBC presser.
Lol if you think Jay will continue to be in charge, yes I know what the reports are saying.

LIV tour sucks
It now controls the PGA tour…
PIF, not LIV, will have the power. LIV may be something PIF plays around with for a while.
PIF, not LIV, has the money. Reports are out there that PIF has $45 billion in cash and $740 billion in accumulated wealth.
Ultimately PIF will decide what golf will look like in the coming decades. Not PGAT. Not LIV.

LIV is now and will always be a joke.

you better do some research on that, LIV tour reps weren't even invited to the meeting. they are gonna get rid of Greg Norman later.
Yasir and the Saudi fund own 93% of the LIV tour. LIV may or may not be around next year, but make no mistake as to who now runs the PGA tour.

This is what I just can’t see how others don’t understand. How can you possibly buy into the ‘Monahan just outsmarted the Saudi’s’ rhetoric.
Monahan just publicly stated that they couldn’t compete financially with PIF on the legal front. So he merges with an entity that has $45B in frick you money. And somehow, the geniuses around here see this as Monahan having the upper hand.
Hilarious.

Unreal how people have reality slap them in the face and see the exact opposite. The PGA Tour better be praying this deal goes through or they're a gone pecan. If the merger fails, how many big names are going to remain loyal this time? You think they're going to cast their lot with that bag of shite, Jay Monahan? You think they're going to believe him that there's actually going to believe him that the money is there for these elevated events? You think the prominent major winner whose wife talked him out of taking a $200million deal with LIV the first time around is going to refuse this time?
Rahm and Hovland are already rumored to be one foot out the door. If this deal folds, the dam is going to burst and it's going to burst quickly. No one will want to be the last sucker with Rory turning out the lights.

Rory would probably be the first to bolt.

Why do you seem proud and happy that PIF has taken over professional golf?

Rahm has been practicing his US Open rounds all week with only LIV golfers. Take this for what its worth which to me means he is announcing after the Open and will play in Spain at the Valderrama event.
The big sponsorship deals with Nike, Marriott, Anheuser-Busch are rumored to be announced immediately after the US Open with LIV Golf.

I thought part of this agreement was that no players are being poached anymore.

Where are you seeing reported it's official? I'm not seeing anything.

Its not being reported as official. LIV Golf Updates and Flushing it Golf are reporting it on twitter as a "done deal" to be announced in a week or two. No one reputable discussing it that I've seen.

How much longer will LIV keep dishing out money to the best players but for sub prime product ? I get they have unlimited money but something’s got to give.

Looks like it won't be for long.

I know Jay fairly well. My kid is very close with his and they spend a bunch of time together. I have not seen him in a while. Just his wife. He is a very hard worker and a true grinder. Do not count him out. As to how is in control of the tour now there are different levels to that discussion.
The players are going to have a lot of say on things now and sit heavily on the board. The pif is involved in many things sports wise around the world and even in the US. They are smart and will stay out of things behind the scenes. They are not in some great hurry to do anything. If you do not get that you do not understand what they are doing. There’s much thought into long term goals there.
They will do whatever is asked and whatever is needed and there will be ways that they are publicly acknowledged but it is not what you would think it would be. Much more subtle.
