Is anyone a member of a private course that my brother and I could come join you and play? We cant get our pro's to call, because our small town country clubs don't have pros.

I tried calling the Cowboys Club and the Tribute, both full. Any ideas?

I'm a 11 handi and my brother is a 5ish. Looking to play some where nice.

Nicer or places I would look at that are all public

Texas Star, by the airport
Texas Rangers, in Arlington by cowboys stasium
Pecan Hollow, plano
Frisco Lakes, Frisco

Rangers and Star and the nicest of those 4. I don't know what your definition of "nice" is or why it needs to be nice. If you are just looking for a good golf course, non goat ranch their all fine.

I can give you a lot more non goat ranches, theyre just going to be more run of the mill public courses as far as ammenities/club house etc. But they're good golf courses in good shape if none of those above work.

I've played tennison.. was good. we're staying at the doubletree near love field and then going to fort worth that night. The west/ northwest would be preferable.

Luna Vista is close. It's as good or better as Tennison if that is your standard. Coyote Ridge should be about 15 or so minutes from there as well.

There's 0 chance they can get out Saturday before 3pm at Grapevine. They release those times 7 days prior and get eaten up very fast.

I just checked Supreme Golf real quick and everything is pretty booked before noon already.

Unless you want to drive up to Winstar about an hour north. They had a bunch of times.

Is Pecan hollow nice? I grew up playing Plano Muni, Sherrill Park, and Los Rios then played Plantation a bunch after college

Pecan hollow is decent, Los Rios is a goat farm. I would goto twin creeks, plantation or west ridge over all 3 of those. Have you checked Indian creek in Carrollton? Not a bad track. I'm not sure if they do it all the time or only on occasion but I played heritage ranch once as a non member and it wasn't that expensive and pretty nice.

Oh I don’t live anywhere near there anymore I was just asking Mingo if it was considered “nice” now. I guess it could’ve matured over decades since I’ve played it. I thought Los Rios was long gone, had no idea it was still going. Mi brother bumped carts there as a kid

I play Pecan Hollow most Sundays. It's one of my favorite courses in the area. It's not the best, but the greens are consistently good. Sometimes they are great. For a muni, it's really good.

Back to OP. Indian Creek (Creeks Course) is a good suggestion as well. You can usually get a time there, and it's closer to the airport. Fun course. Greens are hit or miss.

Played one of them, not sure which, a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the least fun golf courses I've ever played. It was in fine shape, but I hated the course.

The one that has the four ball qualifier next week, whichever that one is

Ya, that's the Creeks Course. It's definitely the better of the two. Full disclosure, I haven't played the Lakes since they redid it, but it was one and done for me before the renovation. Definitely not the least fun course I've ever played. LSU Golf Course would probably take that honor. Indian Creek is a lot like U-Club before the renovation.
