Even if you took all the executive salaries away and put it into prize money ($27 mil)
That’s not going to make a significant difference to what you are saying the problem is.
There are 48 tour events. If you split that money ($27mil) between the 30th place finisher to the 50th place finisher it would average to $27,000 per slot per tournament. Would that difference change your assessment of the situation?
Maybe these guys just don’t realize that the PGA isn’t making NFL money. There really isn’t anymore to go around. They are going to have to work harder for sponsorships or chase the Saudi money.

Somehow the PGA Tour “found” $40M for a player impact program last year. I bet there’s more where that came from.

Go look and see how much the PGA made off selling NFT's of the players from events, and then get back to me.

Leaving. Especially for joining the Saudis. Quit blaming the PGA and just own it.
I'll admit, I was mostly just playing the devils advocate, and because I enjoy annoying pride.
I would agree with you, and I think even Phil would admit that, from a high level, it's not systemic issues with the PGA that draws his criticism, but more like a few that deal with his pockets.
If Phil's comments are right about the PGA not allowing players to profit off NFT deals from tournament pics, while they rake in $800MM, then that's a problem.
And, I don't care who you are, but if you're a guy that stands to make $10, $20, $40MM from NFT's, then you're sure as shite gonna try to fix it.

A very prominent Tour agent tells me the Saudi plan has always been to announce once they have signed 20 players…and they just got to 20. A formal kick-off is now expected the week of the Players, the PGA Tour’s flagship event.

So well run, that some of the top players are looking to bail. Okay.
If you are at your dream job making 1 mil a year and someone tells you that you can do the same thing with less time and get 10 mil, you are going to listen. It’s Nothing about pgatour doing their players wrong and more all about money.

Have you even looked at the payouts? LINK One guy made over $1MM.

Phil being Phil.
PGA Tour Players have a wonderful life. All you have to do is stay in the top 125.
Phil's kids are at a great age, very doubtful he is willing to do more traveling than he is now.
Not sure what is his motivation since he in is the twilight of his career.

I looked at their entire revenue and where the money is going
They made money off NFTs but other traditional areas of revenue are probably down.
Where is the money being wasted if not on executive salaries?

Hmmmm over 50, won a major last year, most likely a sign on bonus as much as he has made in 1/2 of his PGA Tour career, why not?

Posting what you posted knowing that I meant the winner of each event and still trying makes you an arse. But hey to each his own.

I didn't really have an opinion on this, but the NLU podcast made me take the tour's side on this. In what league do players own their highlights and photographs? They aren't the ones producing the content. I can see an argument that the PGA is making more money, so more should go to the talent, but specifically calling that out seems wrong.

Lots of melting on this topic over a league that’ll never materialize
Posted on 2/18/22 at 10:08 am to wutangfinancial
There’d be no melting if Phil wouldn’t have put the PGA on blast. Just admit you’re pursuing bigger bucks and don’t badmouth the league that made you rich to begin with. His and Charlie Hoffman’s comments were unnecessary.
Hey Charlie, know the rules when you play and don’t hit the ball in the water, stupid arse.
