His and Charlie Hoffman’s comments were unnecessary.
Hey Charlie, know the rules when you play and don’t hit the ball in the water, stupid arse.

I was confused by Hoffman's complaint, is he expecting that the new league will play by different rules of golf?

Lots of melting on this topic over a league that’ll never materialize

Idk.. I think it’s definitely happening. Just a question of who will be leaving at this point.

I always thought having a hard on for something meant you liked it. Like “bill really has a hard on for Chili’s ranch dressing”

I think this entire ordeal has proven the other players don’t really actually like Phil as much as the media wants you to think. They are t really standing by him

Pay Perez shite all over Phil yesterday

quote:

“I don’t know, I don’t know what Phil’s doing. I know Phil’s got a lot of stress in life right now, and I don’t know what he’s doing. I know he’s not speaking for me, and, you know, I actually really don’t care what he has to say about anything because I just don’t. He doesn’t speak for me. He’s had an amazing career. He obviously thinks there’s something else on the other side for him going down the line. If he gets it, great. He’s made $800 million on the Tour, I don’t know what could be so bad about the Tour. So I don’t know, I don’t know.

And the ultimate frick you to phil

quote:

But Tiger, Tiger’s our guy. Tiger and I are three months apart. I idolized him my whole life even though we’re the same age. What he says is pretty much gold. You know, I would follow his lead more than anything. If he doesn’t want to do it, Rory [McIlroy] doesn’t want to do it, and if you don’t have the top kids doing it, I just don’t know how much water it’s going to hold anyway. I don’t know how long it’s going to take.

Perez and JT basically told Phil to frick off with his nonsense.

I long for the Bryson and Bruce days compared to this shite.

Pretty obvious that Phil probably ran his mouth to the Saudis about how many players would follow him to the new league and got some cash for that promise. Now, it’s not going like he planned so all of stuff coming out in the media from him the last few weeks was his way of lobbying for some more players.

Rory, JT, Rahm, Morikawa all telling him to kick rocks.

I think they grab Phil, Bryson, Westwood, and DJ as their big 4 PGA guys. Then they'll attract the Charley Hoffman types and fill the rest with Asian Tour guys.

Pat Perez was like finally I get to unload on this guy. They fricking grew up together in San Diego, so you know he has probably disliked Phil his entire life.

I don’t think it happens either. Phil basically gave it away in that excerpt posted earlier when he says it’s leverage to get a bigger piece of the pie from the pga.

I doubt many of the top guys want more travel and time away from home.

I do like seeing Greg Norman causing the pga grief. Their blocking easy half million dollar paydays for him in the eighties was dickish.

This is about money. Phil is now 51 and he does not want to go play the PGA Tour Champions (he won 4 out of 6 starts). At the same time, the days of him getting 10 Top 5's a year, another 5 to 8 top 10's and winning 2 times a year or over. So how does Phil in his mind still generate the buzz and make the money he wants from the PGA tour, the Digital Media rights.

Phil said earlier that he estimated (likely his Financial advisors/CPA's/Attorney's, etc) that the PGA Digital Rights were worth an estimated $20 Billion dollars. Phil has tons of Youtube videos that he uses to teach golf, he has his other Social Media platforms. He wants to have rights over the shots he hit on the PGA Tour and monetize them on his social Media platform. The PGA tour told him no and that is one of the major deals that set this in motion.

Another issue is the fall series, the 9 events played in October and November. Guys like Phil, there are others, and this is in the public, like to gear down and not have to play the fall series. For example, Phil is not going to play the Sandersons in MS or the Sea Island event in GA. Problem is these events all have 500 Fedex points so guys that play them and win and top 5 in several others have a pretty large leg up for the Fedex Cup which is worth lots of money. I think guys like Phil would like 3 alternative events sponsored by PGA tour for say 60 players, guys with a certain # of wins automatically qualify that the top guys from last years Fedex can play in those select events (no cut). These events would also get 500 Fedex points.

Now with that said, Phil getting involved with the Saudi's is not something I wish he would do. But at the same time, the NBA is up China's rear end and so is everyone else do to the what "Money"? and they have people in concentration camps right now.

He pulled that out of his arse. Star Wars sold for 4 billion. So the Tour has digital rights worth 5x the value of Star Wars? Don’t think so

Didn't Arnie and Jack make fortunes in their retirement? Not sure what Phil is doing or thinking with this cash grab. His legacy is worth something and he is crapping all over it at the moment.

I agree he pulled it from somewhere, but I don't think he came up with that number himself. My guess is his Financial advisors gave him that estimate and he went with it. If you read some earlier quotes, this Digital Media rights and exactly how much it is worth is what is at the core of this.

The PGA Tour just switched from NBC (PGA Tour live) to ESPN+. So if you want to watch a Featured group on Thursday or Friday, that is now with ESPN+. ESPN+ did the PGA last year, I signed up for it to watch the coverage before ESPN on Thursday and Friday went live. The PGA tour now has the same type deal with ESPN+. How much was that deal worth? Nobody knows, with all these streaming of the PGA tour, who controls these new revenue streams?

I think Phil wants access to al his shots he hit on the PGA tour to use them for his social media platforms to demonstrate his teaching lesson techniques for hitting chip shots with ball back in stance, forward stance, then how he hits a pitch shot vs chip, etc, etc.

Phil talked about the scary Saudis while trying to get their money and now Bryson and DJ have formally backed out. Something tells me behind the scenes that Tiger, who is out at Riv this week, put his foot down and curb stomped Phil one more time.

With DJ and Spieth out, none of the top 8 in the world rankings have committed.

Looks like Phil sabotaged the entire thing with these comments.
